Of those, Scarface and Requiem for a Dream are fantastic. Reefer Madness is quite bad, but kind of fun to watch as comedy. Haven't seen Fear and Loathing. Basketball Diaries was average. Up in Smoke is a cult classic but really nothing special; it was eclipsed by the Friday movies. Haven't seen Traffic. Trainspotting was very good. Haven't seen Drugstore Cowboy or Blow.

Some other decent films:

Dazed and Confused
Friday
Gridlock'd
Thirteen
Bright Lights, Big City
Bad Lieutenant
Boogie Nights
Training Day
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Go
Midnight Cowboy
Leaving Las Vegas
Pulp Fiction

Avg:

28 Days

Decent documentary:

Grass

And some bad ones, but might be fun to watch sometime:

How High
Half-Baked

Next Friday

Also if you like Reefer Madness, check out Sex Madness (1938). There's a free download of both movies at archive.org. That site also has some other terrible propaganda films they used to show in high schools

check out a movie called "Spun". It has Brittany Murphy in it and its about all these speed freaks. It's a pretty funny movie and has this one scene that will have you laughing for days. ****in meth heads....LOL

The Cheech and Chong movies are by far the best "drug movies". And as Jose would say. It ain't up for debate.

"Monkey On My Back"...the story of boxer Barney Ross was good but would seem pretty dated to you guys.

Up in Smoke is an absolute classic. Cheech and Chong are one of the great comedy duos of all time.

just remembered Al Pacino in Panic in Needle Park. It's not avaiable on DVD or VHS in the US I don't think but the Fox Movie Channel shows it (unedited - the studio does have a PG version circulating, like Saturday Night Fever) from time to time.

requiem for a dream was the most devastating film i have ever seen.
when it finished i just sat in my chair at home shocked by the disenchantment id witnessed.

if ever there's a film which puts someone off taking drugs (of all sorts) then Requiem is it!!
