View Full Version : Why is Anderson Silva P4P number 1 ??? cuz DANA WHITE said that?
LA BAD BOY 05-06-2009, 04:45 PM or he really is?
I mean how can that guy be P4P number 1 and he lost 2 times against smaller guys Chonan and Takase by submission and
you got FEDOR EMELIANENKO a guy who destroyed everyone left
and right.
FEDOR EMELIANENKO is P4P best fighter in the world in my book!

At least the guys Silva lost to are fighter's decently known. Where as Fedor lost to a guy that fell off the planet.
Not cool to judge fighters by losses they had way back.
TheGreatA 05-06-2009, 04:48 PM He is not p4p number 1 and I don't think he ever was.
I've considered Fedor the best fighter in MMA for many years. GSP could be rated above Anderson Silva as well.

Fedor lost on a technicality (since there had to be a winner despite Fedor being cut by an illegal blow) and demolished Kohsaka in a rematch. Kohsaka was not some nobody either, he was a good fighter at his best.
If we rate the two based on their last couple of performances, Fedor is coming off two first round stoppages over former UFC heavyweight champions while Silva is coming off two lackluster performances against contenders whom he should have destroyed inside two rounds.

I agree with you.
Fedor is best P4P of all time.
And GSP should be above him and soon above him will be
Lyoto Machida!

hahahah
You said TK is nobody ? hahahaha
He is way better fighter then Chonan and Takase is trust me .
And Fedor loss is way way back then Andersons are!
Anderson lost in 2004.Fedor few years before that!
You are noob in MMA!
Nicky Fatton 05-06-2009, 07:24 PM since the MMA forum is dead on this site I have been elsewhere but anyway:
1. To the guy who said Fedor lost to a nobody is clearly not even close to a fan of MMA or has any clue about the career of the greatest MMA fighter to ever live. Please educate yourself before you make unbelivably retarded statements again. You look like a jackass.
2. Anderson Silva is very very good but not great. He is the product of the UFC hype machine. He has 2 notable wins against Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin. The rest of his fights are against gatekeepers and complete cans (2 of which have victories over him). He is going to get demolished at some point if he ever is matched against a decent opponent. His last 3 opponents consisted of an unranked 205 can, and 2 guys at 185 who have no business contending for the title.
3. Dana White is a collosal douchebag and doesn't give 2 ****s about MMA. He only cares about his bottom line. It's only a matter of time until he declares the winner of Mir/Lesnar "THE BEST ****ING HEAVYWEIGHT IN THE WORLD BRAH". The guy is a tool and bad for the sport.
Nodogoshi 05-06-2009, 08:13 PM I agree with prior posters, I think it should be obvious to anyone who is either not ignorant about MMA (that is, of the sport beyond the UFC) or who does not have their head stuck entirely up their ass that their is not now, and there never has been, a fighter in MMA who can match Fedor. The guy is simply phenomenal.

Completely agree.
1: the two ufc champions he beat where ****
try not to gloss over the fact that one had his contract terminated and the
other left cause he lost 5rd ud to light heavyweight and then got submitted
while winning the fight. both seen way better days.
2: he doesnt fight the best fighters, period. the guy doesnt want a legacy.
3: gsp has consistently faced elite fighters and besides his loss to serra, has
looked incredibly dominant doing it.

I can't believe this is a serious post.
1. At the time Fedor fought Sylvia and AA, they were both ranked inside the TOP 5 heavyweights in the world (AA#2, Tim# 4 or 5 depending on source). AA WON his last fight in the UFC before leaving and was on a 4 fight win streak before facing Fedor. Tim was the longest reigning and most DOMINANT UFC HW champ in the org's history whose last 2 losses came from Fedor and Big Nog. No shame in losing to the 2 GREATEST Heavyweights of all-time.
2. Fedor has defeated everybody put in front of him. His career is MORE impressive than either Silva or GSP.
3. GSP is #2 P4P in my rankings but if you compare their careers its not even close. Fedor wins by a MILE. Fedor never lost, never got knocked down, never submitted, never KO'ed, etc etc. Whether Fedor fought "cans" like Hong Man Choi or LEGENDS like Big Nog, he never LOST. GSP got wrecked by Matt Serra.
I like GSP a lot but its ridiculous to compare him to the GOAT at least right now.
Get your facts straight.

his record lists a loss
suppose ur one of thise guys that says a loss on a cut isnt a loss ?

A noob? Your a ****ing idiot. Your the one who thinks Silva isn't worthy of a p4p #1 status. Personally I think Fedor is #1 anyways, because as I have said before and will forever say. When he faught Arlovski, I said if Fedor wins he is p4p #1 period. He KOed the pitbull. So, I have no problem with that.
But to down Silva because he lost to Chonan and Takase who are both well known in Japan. Gtfo.
Just because Fedor came to America dont jump on the ****ing bandwagon. No one was talking about his ass until he came to Afflcition. So stfu, bro. Dont even say you were watching him before that, its would be a lie. You were probably one of the guys that dissed Fedor and thought Couture was the best since sliced bread.

There's a difference between losing on a technicality and actually getting beat. Fedor got caught with an elbow seconds into the fight and destroyed TK in the rematch, showing it was most probably a fluke. In fact, elbows were actually disallowed in the tournament, but being that it was a tourny, they needed a winner and so TK was declared the victor rather than the fight being a NC. By the way, had Fedor gotten the nod he would've fought Randy Couture in the following round of the tournament (and he would've destroyed Couture, ending then and there the notion that Randy could actually measure up to Fedor's level).
There are very few fighters who I don't respect, at least in the ring. That said, there is simply no one in the world who fights on the level of Fedor Emelianenko. GSP and Silva make a strong case for a distant 2nd/3rd.

Hey I am from Croatia.
We whatch every CROCOP fight live!
and I whatch Fedor since he fought Minotaur 1 fight!

When Takase beat Silva, his record was 4-7-1. Now, he's 7-13-1.
He has fought a few names, but he's basically lost to all of them, with the exception of Anderson Silva. And a washed up Carlos Newton.

I don't care if its listed as a loss. It doesn't diminish anything he has done in the sport. Go ahead and find me a moment where Fedor looked terrible. You won't find any. I can find Silva looking like an amateur.

I like Silva but he is not even CLOSE to matching Fedor in terms of greatness.
He has 2 notable wins: Henderson and Franklin. The rest of his victories are against gatekeepers and cans.
If the UFC didn't have the worst ****ing (middleweight) division in MMA, Silva would not be the champion.

Things change over time. Just cause Silva lost to those guys over 3 years ago doesn't mean he is the same guy that lost back then. That's like saying, how can Michael Jordan be considered a top college prospect when he got cut from his high school basketball team.
Still Pimpin 05-10-2009, 05:52 PM Your a dumb ass. This ain't boxing and unlike boxers this guy hasn't ducked a soul. A.Silva is the best at this time. Nobody downs Cotoure for his lossess and he's like half and half. Anyway if you don't know why Silva's the best it's because you don't watch MMA or you don't want anyone to threaten Fedor's spot.
LA BAD BOY 05-10-2009, 06:32 PM FEDOR IS number one P4P.
Look GSP,Mir,Shogun,Jake Shields and others said that Fedor is P4P number 1.
Only Dana White claims that Anderson is best P4P.
I think that GSP is better then Anderson also.
Move BRICKS™ 05-10-2009, 08:47 PM Anderson's past five fights: An hour or so.
Fedor's past five fights: 15 minutes or so.
Fedor is the most dominant fighter in the world. Regardless of who wins more fights or the caliber of opponents, the bottom line is that Fedor finishes all top names with ease.
Elemental Fist 05-11-2009, 05:42 PM I don't care about rankings, I just care about which fighters are good.
Still Pimpin 05-11-2009, 07:06 PM Fedors a bum and the HW division pales in comparison to any other weight class as far as skill.
