Ken Shamrock Injures Rotator Cuff, Needs Surgery
Story By: Ken Shamrock.com
July 04, 2004
To confirm internet rumors that circulated this weekend that originated at fightsport.com, Ken Shamrock did tear his rotator cuff (shoulder), durring his UFC 48 match against Kimo, and will require corrective surgery.
Ken has had some issues with his shoulder in the past - but unfortunately what was originally thought as just "wear and tear" turned out to be a bit more serious when the x-rays came back.
We asked Ken about this on July 3 and he seemed very upbeat. He told us "I want to take care of this injury so I am 100 percent when I fight again."
He will continue with NWA:TNA wrestling until he goes in for surgery next month.
Ken told us that recovery will take 4-6 months at which time he will be at 100%. He will continue to train around this injury and has promised that he will "not miss a beat".
