Does anyone have them or at least has used them? I'm on the fence on buying these... At $100, what are the best leather gloves for heavy bag/training?

Well this is just me, I would not spend that much money on gloves for hitting the heavy bag. Don't get cheap ones as they are cheap for a reason, buy middle of the road ones for training. Then get some high end ones for sparing and fights. But that is just my opinion if that money is not much for you there is nothing wrong with buying the best to train in.

i have used them my brother has them and they are alright but no where near the best. If your not that serious about boxing they are alright because they will not last that long.

If he's willing to spend $100 on some gloves, then he's probably serious lol.

I would never spend that much for an nEverlast glove, their reputation for gloves these days is absolutely garbage. If I want something mass-produced in China with inferior materials, I'll spend a lot less money.

Well if you think it will help your training go for it. Just remember opinions on what a "good" glove will vary from person to person. Some people do not like everlast because they do not do it for them and others use it because they do not know anyother brand. Some people need lots of knuckle protection or lots of wrist support, so first look at the glove you are using whats wrong with it? too heavy, not enough padding, no support? Then start looking into a glove that will correct that issue. There may be nothing wrong with what you are using and it may just be the way you wrap your hands. Just look into it first.

i use the evergel wraps and only have used the smelly, low entry everlast gloves (14oz).

i've never suffered a fracture, but after using these, my right wrist hurts to the point of having to stop training for fear of hurting myself. i won't go winning because of their huge price, so i'm looking for the best hook and loop gloves out there just for bag work and training

there's no need for them to be good for sparring, since i'll buy some really good ones when the time comes to move up to sparring

thanks

Just get Grant gloves or Cleto Reyes, I prefer the Grant heavy bag gloves, they are easy on the wrist and good looking hehe.

If these are what you are using for wraps....

It's not surprising that your wrists hurt. Those things offer no support for your wrists. Get yourself a pair of real handwraps (180" mexican style wraps are the best in most peoples opinion) and learn how to wrap your hands properly. You might fix the problem without having to spend $100 on gloves.

Agree with those who said you need to use real handwraps. They will provide a lot more wrist support than those evergels. Get the mexican wraps, they are flexible and soft and long enough to cover your hand. Also, consider getting lace up gloves. Yes they are a hassle, but if you have wrist problems, they will probably give you extra support because your wrist will be locked into place. It won't move around as much as opposed to some hook and loop gloves.

lol, that's exactly what i was using

i bought the mexican wraps (extra long version), but i guess i'll need to at least search for a vid on youtube to learn to wrap 'em by my own

You'll find plenty of stuff on youtube. Just try a bunch of ways out and seee what feels best. It will probably be confusing when you first start wrapping them but you'll get used to it and get them just how you like em.

OMG those things are **** **** ****!!! I tried them out last week. They lasted exactly 8 rounds on the heavy bag UNDERNEATH 16oz gloves before the material over the gel ripped open. Now i would like to think i can punch with the power of Tyson but im 145lbs and 5'10 so i do not think that it was my super-human strenght that did it. Now im losing faith in everlast those things lasted 8 rounds , the 14oz gloves lasted a week before the stitches busted open. Like i said i would like to think i have this crazy strength but i 'aint the hulk.
Learn how to wrap your hands, then change it up a bit to fit what you need. For example: My left hand needs wrist support BIG time but i could run my left knuckles over with a truck, my right hand just needs normal wrapping.

amen to that

, well it leaset the part about everlast rep being garbage.. i actually got a serious hand injury becuase of their 16 oz pro strap up sparring gloves. absolutely garbage gloves... their pro fight gloves arent bad but anyone can make pro fight glvoes...

for training i think which is the most important, u need and want something to LAST, PROTECT, and of corse, feel comfortable... i am from canada and im tellin u the best glove decision i ever made was switching to RIVAL. their bag gloves are amazing, they offer a unique and original wrist lock design that is one of the easiest ways to put on gloves real tight like they were laced, but with the strap...
when i first got them i was blown away putting them on, they felt like pillows protecting my hands, they were so comfortable, and lasted for over a year , they are flat now, but i trained a lotttttttttt with them.

if u dont wanna buy from canada, i cant say from experience, but i think grant and ringside have quality gloves good protection and comfort.

dont go cheap with training gloves. bag gloves or sparring gloves. u need top of the line equipment to protect you in this sport.

Really?
I thought they looked cheap as heck.
The old pro trainers had a type of leather that looked thick, but soft, with lots of wrinkles in it, and pre-broken in.
The old pro trainers were actually one of the nicest hand pockets I've ever felt on a mass-produced glove, which includes most of the biggest names out there.
This new stuff looks like more of the same old BS they've been peddling with the high performance line and then the Protex2 (with vinyl - less than $40 & available at most sports stores).
I don't like leather that looks like plastic.

To change subject, the Rival stuff looks pretty quality.
I've only seen one pair up close & it looked like it would last.
Just not thrilled about some of their design choices - I don't like the tribal on the back of the glove, not a huge fan of the space age look either.
The wrist strap part looks like a really good idea though, I've seen something similar on a pair of new Fairtexes and I think that's what Everlast is trying to bite off of for the Protex line.

Right now, the main gloves that look attractive to me are:
Legacys, Flores (Beaulieu), Shevlin, and Grant - first two are very hard to get ahold of and the last one may not be what it once was.
Also kinda like Tufwear, King, and maybe someday I'll give Winning a shot.

I've got the everlast Protex 14 oz... not sure if they are 2 or not, but I just got them, for ~$40 at my gym. In comparison, my title 18 oz sparring gloves were about ~$80.

Happy with them for what they are... relatively priced training gloves.

My last pair of everlast cheap training gloves 16 oz lasted me 6 months or so and then starting hurting my knuckles, and I used those suckers a lot... it seriously just depends on each person... but to say they are cheap and mass produced in china... whatever floats your boat.
