I've read the stories about how bad Primo Canera really was...but John Ruiz is the worst fuching man to EVER wear the heavyweight belt.

His tactics are illegal, his skills (what skills) are lacking....how can anyone call punch, clinch, punch clinch, flop on the floor, cry to the ref, punch, clinch skills?

Merchant even called out there were fifty (FIFTY FUCHING CLINCHES) clinches in one round?! Oh my gawd...how can a ref not disqualify this guy?

He's had TWO great fights in his entire career:
a) Tua's 19 second knock out of Ruiz
b) Jones working the fool Ruiz, busting his nose and winning the title.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion - but this guy's not even the worst champion right now. That would be Lamon Brewster, who was beaten all over the ring by Kali Meehan. Meehan was just disposed of Saturday night.

Ruiz is no where close to being the worst heavy champ. Your just saying that because Golota was robbed on Saturday night. Ruiz has beaten too many half decent fighters to be the worst and although i hate his style of fighting i have to say it gets results.

Nah, he ain't the worst. i HATE john ruiz but there have been some real bums that held the title, Primo Carnera wasn't very good, Jess Willard was a tough guy with heart and a chin but he also lacked skills, even Lamon Brewster, while he has heart, a great attitude and fights hard, he's a lot less skilled than Ruiz is.

I used to hate Golota. Now I hate Ruiz even more..

He is horrible to watch. His corner man eats almight a$$. But he seems to get wins...the last time he lost was against Jones and that was the first time in awhile. Like him or not...the SOB sticks around like a bad rash.

I wouldn't go so far as to consider Ruiz the worst heavyweight champion ever, although his style is terrible to watch. I wish he would rematch with Tua (where is he these days anyway?). Hopefully the result of such a rematch would be very similar to their first encounter. ;)

i hate jay nady with a passion, cause he's always breaking up fighters who are fighting on the inside, BUT next ruiz fight i want him to be the ref, cause he would dq that bum for excessive holding!!!!

Boxing,Kimmy, is not like football. In football you can win ugly
and no one cares. In boxing, if your not exiting, no one wants to
see you fight. Who wants to see ruiz hold and wrestle his opponent all night. what boxing fans want to see is; Ali knocking
out the reining heavyweight champ george foreman to win the title
or Mike Tyson beating the crap out of holmes,spinks, or douglas
knocking out tyson to forcefully take the title. who wants to see
ruiz boring fighting style. :(

Ruiz is certainly not the best ever, but i wouldn't say he is the worst. Although he's closer to the bottom than the top. The think i don't like about him the most is that he is the most BORING fighter i've seen in the last twenty years. I actually have to leave the room when he's on, i get so damned pissed and watching him clinch, for that alone he is a disgrace.
