View Full Version : Heath Herring....
realkaps 06-22-2004, 03:47 PM Do you think Heath could do well in the UFC? I think Heath could give every HW in the UFC a run for there money. The Pride HW devision is too stacked, I think it would be a good move if he where to come too the UFC. Although he would probably take a big paycut.......
mmafanman 06-22-2004, 03:56 PM Pride likes Heath and they pay him well over there. I see no reason for him coming to the UFC in the near future.
realkaps 06-22-2004, 03:58 PM Yeah, but its gotta suck to know the closest you are getting to a title is if Fedor lets you hold it...........
Mr. Beelzebub 06-22-2004, 04:02 PM Heath is not coming to the UFC, not happening.
realkaps 06-22-2004, 04:08 PM I never said he was going, I was asking, How do you think he would do against the UFC's top HeavyWeights?
Bluecifer 06-22-2004, 04:27 PM I think Heath would be one of, if not the top guy in the UFC. It probably won't happen though.
Mr. Beelzebub 06-22-2004, 06:09 PM Heath would hurt most UFC's WHs. The only people that might take him could be Arlovski.
mmafanman 06-22-2004, 06:15 PM I'd take Arlovski over Herring too. Here's my top 10 heavyweights as of today:
1.) Fedor
2.) Nog
3.) Mir
4.) Josh Barnett
5.) CroCop
6.) Arlovski
7.) Herring
8.) Rizzo
9.) Sylvia
10.) Ricco
The Golden Bear 06-22-2004, 06:33 PM Barnett is awesome. When is he soposed to be back in pride? He shouylda been in the GP.
Lei Tong 06-22-2004, 08:14 PM I don't consider Heath a top 10 HW anymore. He hasn't had a meaninful win in a while, and still doesn't really stand out in anyone area enough for me to think he'd beat many in or around the Top 10.
allmmafan21 06-22-2004, 08:22 PM I wouldnt put Mir above Barrnet but i agree with everything else mmafanman. I was shocked that mir beat sylvia and especially as quick as he did.
kcfman 06-23-2004, 01:42 AM Heath is certainly not doing as good as he is capable of. But he is a threat in any organization and I believe that he could win the heavyweight title in the ufc. Mir would be a big obstacle but I think he could take any other fighter in the heavyweight division in the ufc.
Fallout 06-23-2004, 11:17 AM Why do people like Arlovski so much? I mean, he is exciting, but he lost to Rizzo and Ricco. How can you rank him above them?
mmafanman 06-23-2004, 01:42 PM Why do people like Arlovski so much? I mean, he is exciting, but he lost to Rizzo and Ricco. How can you rank him above them?
Here's why:
Rizzo has been inactive and hasn't fought in the last seven months. And we still haven't been given any clue as to when he's fighting again. Ricco, meanwhile, has lost his last three fights in a row.
True, Rizzo did beat Arlovski pretty badly. But that was more than two years ago. Since then, Arlovski has won his last three straight in VERY impressive fashion against credible competition and has established himself as the legitimate number one contender for Mir's belt.

Arlovski's biggest win was against Matyushenko. However, thats still a step below guys like Rizzo and Rodriguiez. I am going to reserve judgement on him until he wins the big fight.
Lei Tong 06-24-2004, 01:55 AM After he lost to Tito, Vladimir had defeated Rogerio Noguiera, Pedro Rizzo & Travis Wiuff, and was on an overall much better swing than Rizzo or Rodriguez at the time Andrei beat him.

Excellent points, as usual Lei Tong. I completely forgot that the Janitor actually did beat Mr. Passive Agressive a few UFC's ago. You saw that one, Creed, right?
