Our local radio station is having is usual Friday StarWars and it feature Ja Rule vs DMX...

When you go track for track, it aint too many artist that was touchin Ja before the 50 situation..

easily DMX but Ja was definitely no slouch...he made alotta great music too. DMX used to outshine ja rule all the time...

Not too many can go with DMX when his head is right.
If it was just about who can make better singles Ja would be ahead but for overall work it's The Dark Man.

in my opinion, the one advantage that ja rule had was making songs for the ladies...X was great at making songs for the ladies but he didnt make nearly as many.

Ja Rule made a big impact in hip hop up until 50 cent unfairly ended his career....and i say unfair because it was 50 and eminem...eminem was as popular as any rapper could possibly be at that point, it wouldnt have mattered how good of a diss ja rule dropped. He wasnt winning that battle.

Ja at his best couldn't touch the combination of G unit and Eminem with those Green Lantern mix tape diss tracks. Its not like they came with some soft **** and won the battle.

Eminem is a lyrical genious but i dont think there was that much of a difference between the disses that ja and 50 made.

Overall I don't think Ja rule can touch DMX's first three CD's .. When X is'nt strong on the crack and stays out of jail he's a monster with the mic. Ja rule have made some popular tracks but based on realness, classics and overall succes (6 albums, 6 times no 1) im gonna go with ma man DMX. Ja rule hasn't really done much since Em and 50 ****ed up murder inc.

i didnt like the songs at the time but i do have to admit that I like those songs now...even though they're for the ladies (no homo). Its not a bad thing, to like songs like that...or is it? :o

Thats what im saying, the only aspect where i think Ja Rule might have X beat is making songs for the ladies. Ja might be one of the best ever at that. But X had some bangers even on his last couple of cds, that dont get the love that his first 4 got.

Ja's singing might have led to the current incarnation of Lil' Wayne.

He had some good singles, but he was nothing special...a decent Greatest Hits EP worth but that's about all. DMX is ridiculously overrated on this forum.
