The way the media is sensationalising this whole affair you'd think we are on the verge of an Ebola pandemic.

Flu pandemics occur so often you can almost set your watch by them. Even the milder strains kill millions of people worldwide. Whilst mortality rates seem high in Mexico you have to ask what access to up-to-date medical services these people had.

Usually you find people tend to wait up to seven days before calling a doctor. By then pneumonia has set in and it's very difficult to treat the patient effectively.

The other question you have to ask is: how many people came down with the virus, survived and didn't bother to report it? If you add this number (almost always the overwhelming majority of cases) to the statistics you suddenly find the virus is not so lethal after all.

It's a load of ****e just like that bird flu that was ment to kill us off.
