Well, getting a lawyer helped us come to an agreement with the school district and now our son is going to be tested by them to see where he needs to be placed so he can learn. They withdrew the expulsion, they put him on Home School for the last seven days of school, and then we find out that they filed a DUE PROCESS HEARING against us!!! They claim that we refused to allow him to be tested by the school! How ironic is that? I requested testing back in Feb. NOW they want to test him like they should have done a long time ago. According to the laws set forth, they had "basis of knowledge" to know that he should have been tested some time ago. *&^@#$)&(*!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, our battle is not over yet, they still have to test him and then we see what lies before us after the testing provided we agree with their results.....they can be SOB's at the school district. But then again, I can be a B....!

He's not. I've seen his intelligence at work. Unlike when talking to you.

I have seen a monkeys intelligence at work. I have seen them eat and masterbate (no really, at the zoo when I was 14). They are still dumb as ****. You have to face the facts that maybe your son is too. Or maybe he is lazy, or maybe he is going to end up stealing cars and cell phones for a living until he ends up in jail and getting raped.

I am not saying thats going to happen, but it is possible.

I don't think most people are stupid it's just some people learn different way. School and grades are a very poor representation of your intelligence.

Totally agreed, it doesn't show your true intelligence, well I have to say that intelligence is a relative concept, IMO intelligence is be creative, apreciatte (??) all you're seeing, looking for make you better and share your thinks and ideas with other people. For me, getting an A in all exams isn't be intelligent...

Slacker is correct.

Sometimes people are just plain stupid.

Other times people are lazy and fail to apply themselves.

This is irrespective if they're stronger academically in a particular area over others.

What Slacker is saying is that this may be what your son is becoming. It is not necessarily a reflection on you as a parent but rather a reflection of who he is and the choices he has made.

Well, he's not plain stupid.

He does not apply himself, but alot of that has to do with a brain injury and the ADD that came from it.

He is weak academically in all areas unless there is an interest in it. He does his homework, but does not turn it in, and many other symptoms that relate to the ADD.

I don't take it as attack on me as a parent. As a friend put it for me once, if it was a parenting problem, I'd have three screwed up kids....I have only one.

The truth is I forgot all the **** I learned in high school, the first year I can barely do math any more because I don't really have to.

That makes sense, although I'm doubly skeptical every time I hear the term ADD thrown about.

These days it's become the catchcry of teachers, doctors and sadly many parents, painting many broad 'problems' with a single brush.

My son is medically, psychologically, and psychiatrically diagnosed with Inattentive ADD, ODD all stemming from a TBI(traumatic brain injury) at age 4. Most symptoms from a TBI do not show themselves until later in life. I saw changes immediately and could not get any doc to listen until the problems started to arise. "He's not that bad" etc is what I was told. I wanted to KEEP him from every getting that bad. Now he's THAT bad and they want to "get rid" of him. Sweep him out the door.

He's not on meds. They don't work for long. The doc kept upping the doses....I couldn't take it anymore. We switched to supplements and they do help, but he's off of them right now so the school can test him "bare". That's what will be best for him, so they can find out the truth about what his problems are. We're hands on parents, so it's not as if the school will be doing all of this on their own. We will be there.

The "no supplements" time, right now, has been pure hell. Pray for me, not to kill him...lol.

Seriously though, I have been reading up on so much on ADD and it's so amazing what ADD/ADHD kids do because of how their brain is wired...it's backwards.

I remember in year 11, my Biology class went to the zoo to see something that I don't recall...all I do remember is watching this big Sacred baboon **** **** out of all the other sacred baboons cause he was the biggest...I sat there for about an hour laughing like a retard at it, I even took a girl I liked to the enclosure then gave her 'the look' while it was going on...sadly, it didn't quite fly

I went to Africa with my dad when I was 17 and we stayed at a place called TreeTops Inn. We watched a horny little warthog nail every female around the saltlick. I was so embarassed and my dad was very amused.

Baboons are mean!!! On the top of that same hotel, they hosted a picnic lunch where some moron thought it would be "cute" to hiss at a baboon standing about 20 feet away. He found out how fast they move and how big their teeth are up close and personal......we all laughed, after we cleaned ourselves up....I think I remember peeing my pants. He wasn't standing that far from me!
