There isn't lots of them but there is footage of Charley Burley, Joe Gans Stanley Ketchel, and Sam Langford around as I have all in my libary. There is also a rather decent amount of footage of Jack Johnson.
I have all these fighters known footage in my libary and I continue to search. I also have Rocky Marciano vs Roland LaStarza I, but it isn't the best of quality to be honest.......

I've got a good chunk of what little is out there. Marciano - LaStarza I is elusive: I always see the rematch but never the first encounter.

No Greb????
Yes Armstrong v Robinson would be interesting though maybe a little sad.
By the way this is a fantasy wish list they don't have to be attainable just your wet dream :)
poet682006 04-25-2009, 08:45 PM There's a couple of reasons for the lack of these classic fights:
1. Early in the 20th century they outlawed the trafficking of fight films (not that it didn't happen it just made it less frequent).
2. WWII. Many of the classic fights WERE filmed on that old silver nitrate film but because silver nitrate was valuable to the war effort many fight films wound up sacrificed.

You already covered Greb lol! Yeah, Armstrong - Robinson would be a bit sad but I just want to see those two greats in the ring together.

It does make you re-evaluate whether Hitler and the Japs were that bad doesn't it?

I greedily covered La Motta v Robinson 1-5 but you stole!
Greb is def the el dorado for me.

The Japs maybe not so bad though their atrocities in China are food for thought. I don't think Western Civilization could tolerate Nazism in it's midst for very long.

Think of the films man, think of the films!
Meant to ask your friend Tunney, likes any fighter as long as they are white is the score?

So it seems. There's a group of eastern Euro posters in NSB that all hang together and take a Slavic supremacist position on everyting. Real uber-Slavic nationalists.

Go Froch :). I always cheer on the British fighters even if I don't think they are that great.
What did Taylor think the other guy is going to try and do in the last round
when he is behind on points? Guess just not enough energy to get on his bike.
Hopefully Froch might have learnt how to jab last night he isn't going to get too far without one.
