View Full Version : Thinkin about a career change...
Purity 05-28-2004, 02:23 AM i don't wanna do this forever. i want back into being a real estate agent.
i went to lunch with my old partner and ****er made more this year so far then i've made in the last 2 years combined. but the money isn't the thing. it's the freedom. i'm sick of corporate bull****. i'm sick of the politics. and, even though i work at least 12 hours everyday, i'm sick of knowing that i'll get in trouble for not working at least 8.
i've been in real estate for 4 years and i'm still renting. if i had bought instead of opening that dip**** clothing line then i'd have a cool $100K equity hangin. ****.
so far i've recruited 3 loan officers to give this **** up and get ourselves a fresh start with my old partner back at prudential. i love the challenge. i love not knowing what the **** is gonna happen with my life. i love being taught lessons the hard way and i challenge anyone to find a more efficient way to kick ass. being drunk rules. i'm passin out.
see you ****splats tomorrow mornin bright & early.
nance 05-28-2004, 02:27 AM I say, Go for it. I think you could possibly make a good salesman, but you can't just hang up on your clients when they are being stupid....now can you?
Purity 05-28-2004, 02:34 AM i've always been a pretty good salesman and i've always hung up on clients when they piss me off.
well sometimes i hit the mute button and then talk **** on em when they can't hear me...
"what's that sir? you suck dick like a ****ing ****star and your mom's-
well i understand that you don't like my fees but the BENEFIT of this loan isn't going anywhere except away if you don't look at the numbers."
"you sick, silly *** ****ing piece of donkey **** whore-
ok look, let's look at tax breaks, shall we?"
Leather 05-28-2004, 02:54 AM It reminds me when I workrd for a bank, I felt the same you're feeling...Have you tried to go to another job and work in another different area? (avoiding (??) the sales department)
Purity 05-28-2004, 03:04 AM it's not sales that i have a problem with. sales is simply being yourself for money.
Leather 05-28-2004, 04:25 AM But I'm speaking about trying to do something different and compare the situation (before and now)
DOGGx0 05-28-2004, 11:59 AM I'm actually surprised that you got involved in that corporate bull****. you've always been preaty free in what you do, and you know you're good at anything you put effort into....
i say do it.
Allison 05-28-2004, 12:03 PM I'm aiming to be a sales agent,too.
Purity 05-28-2004, 12:10 PM check this out, my average loan amount is $110K because i work nationwide. in the end, after the fees that i get, and after every ungrateful bastard tries to nickel & dime me....i usually make about $1,500 per loan.
now the median sales price for a home in southern cali is now at $567,000. i'm offered a 79% commission split SO if i collect the standard 3% in listing commission (rarely do people nickel & dime that either) then i'm lookin at about $13,000 for just one ****in home sold. AND if i represent the buyers then it's twice that amount.
i've been an agent before and the actual work, stress, and drama involved with transactions is no worse than loans.
Slacker 05-28-2004, 01:49 PM If you were selling homes, why did you get out of it? I am an investment banker myself, and I know for a fact you guys make crazy money. ESPICALLY if you live in O.C
Purity 05-28-2004, 01:51 PM too long of a story man.
Bluecifer 05-28-2004, 01:57 PM Funny you should say that Purity. I'm thinking of changing careers too. One of my clients offered me a job and said they would pay for my 6 & 63 securities licensing.
Purity 05-28-2004, 02:07 PM yeah. i've always chased whatever made sense. i make good money now but i can do the same **** and make a ton more. not that i'm materialistic but if you have to think, why not think big?
KittyKitty 05-28-2004, 02:09 PM i know that your true motivation is to save up for our island.
Purity 05-28-2004, 02:13 PM you know me too well my love :)
Bluecifer 05-28-2004, 02:14 PM I kinda wanna be a professional gambler. Gambling has become my new and expensive hobby. Tomorrow I'm gonna spend $500. I already spent $300 today on online drugs. I'm thinking big too.
Purity 05-28-2004, 02:16 PM when's the last time you rolled vegas blue?
Bluecifer 05-28-2004, 02:18 PM Never. I've only been to Reno. Wasn't into gambling than either. I just started here in Portland.
Purity 05-28-2004, 02:32 PM we were thinkin about rollin to vegas this weekend. there's this new club called ICE. basically they shoot small doses of liquid nitrogen out from the ceiling, over the dance floor, and supposedly the temperature drops about 20 degrees in a matter of a couple seconds.
which sounds pretty ****in bad ass if i'm rollin on 2 pills and freakin some fine ass slut from the back
handjobs4dollars 05-28-2004, 07:02 PM I'm going to work at a magazine. Start my own when I have enough money. ****, rugby, beer or mma I have picked yet but I will soon.
Deacon Frost 05-29-2004, 09:50 PM Go for it Purity. You are still young enough that you are able to do this and not feel the pinch so bad.
Life's learning experiences are never wasted, never forget that. They were simply lessons you had to learn at a time when you needed them.
