Its a good article. But I don't think this is a make or break album for Cam'ron. Its just another Cam'ron album, and for people who like his style of rap, it will be most likely be an enjoyable listen.

If it flops he becomes irrelevant .. which basically ends any mainstream career he has left. He needs a splash .

I basically agree... he needs to come out with some heat, alot of dudes who have been in the game for a minute need to really step theyre **** up if they want to keep cashing in... This means serious promotion, i hate to bring it up again but joe buddens put out a dope ass album and moved only 13k first week...

But on another note i think cam can still make very good music and if he really puts the work in then he should do some pretty good numbers... From what ive seen this year so far cam is planning on staying in for the long haul so we'll see what happens.

based off of what cams been doing im guaranteeing that this album will be real nice. Cam'ron is one of the best rappers ever, hes an all time great. I cant wait until this leaks...but dont get it twisted, im coppin this too even if i gotta rob an old lady to pay for it.

sisforshaq is suggesting that this album is being put out to make cam'ron a big star again. I don't think that is his intent, if it was, he'd be doing his first single with Lil Wayne...lol

yea i think that was kind of funny, cam already has a solid fanbase. I can see him doing more then ross and jadakiss in his 1st week. Hes very good at marketing himself, and he seems to have a bigger buzz on the internet right now then any other rapper not named Lil wayne. I know that he wont let his fans down based on the songs hes been droppin, i cant wait for this. It should be leaking in a couple of weeks.

Joe Budden shouldn't be irrelevant. But the truth is, alot of the best rappers are irrelevant to the mainstream......... :no: @ the mainstreams taste...lol

Another thing truth and mac reguarding cams fan base... with everything that went on with dipset and the falling out with all those guys do you think alot of those fans jumped ship or are there loyalties still with cam?

Joe Budden is irrelevant. Cam had and has main stream appeal.. Purple Haze and Come Home With Me sold in all markets to all regions of fans. All rappers have a loyal fan base and then branch out to the mainstream if the buzz is right and the people feel the album. If your Cam and your out of the game 3 years after putting out a terrible album (Killa Season)... then you of course need to bounce back with something interesting and appealing .. if Crime Pays gets shelled in reviews and sells weak, I honestly dont see Cam coming back with another effort.

Yeah then he had a major labeling spending money on him....its easier to sell in that situation.

To be honest I probably listened to Cam before you knew who he was... but I am going to buy it simply for the fact if I write about something Im going to properly give it a listen and review it. Killa Season is terrible, I'm sorry. I can understand people saying its ok at best.. but just compare it to Purple Haze or Come Home With Me. It's really a poor effort. Its plain as day to understand he needs a good comeback record.. thats why its a comeback record. If it sucks and bombs who is going to want to listen to him after that? (which will be 2 years atleast before another album).

Budden is irrelevant. He is a dope MC but has zero ear for top notch production.. which was even apparent when he was with Def Jam a mega power top notch label. He will get plays from hardcore heads and his fan base but as far as people being remembered and main stream, he is just another dude who raps.

sis, you cant act like your opinion is one that the majority would agree with. From what i know, most people like Killa season and i post on rap sites that have alot more rap fans then boxingscene ever will. Killa Season gets alotta love, its not as good as purple haze but i think its definitely worth the $12 i paid for it. I cant take you seriously if you say Killa Season is average at best, and act like the majority would agree with that.

and make no mistake about that, sis can write whatever he wants...but most of the time i hear killa season brought up, its in a positive way...the only thing negative i usually hear about it is "well, its not as good as purple haze" :dry:

I wrote the Cam article simply because I thought it was an interesting topic. A comeback album from a former front man of hip hop. I feel that Killa Season was not good and if you think otherwise then thats how it is. I respect everyones opinion because good debates and opinions help mold hip hop into what it is. I just simply believe this is Cam's last chance to get back to the top of his game and consider this a comeback effort. If it flops (quality or sales wise) I think he will loose a fan base and not be what he was. He has a chance to come back strong .. hence why I asked if Crime Still Pays
