In the weekend Age Sport and Style liftout on the weekend there is a double colour spread with our top 10 all time boxers.

The list ranking was weighted on the following criteria:

- Ability
- Courage
- Achievements
- How their rivals rated them

Top 10 as follows

1. Jeff Fenech
2. Kostya Tszyu
3. Les Darcy
4. Lionel Rose
5. Johnny Famechon
6. Jimmy Carruthers
7. Dave Sands
8. Vic Patrick
9. Vic Darchinyan
10. Albert Griffiths (Young Griffo)

The Age has asked for feedback "Did we get it right? Send us your list of Australia's best boxers to sportandstyle@fairfaxmedia.com.au"

If we get in enough entries it might prompt a follow up article by Garry Maddox the author.

I'm not the greatest boxing historian, but my list looks like this

1 Darcy
2 Tszyu
3 Fenech
4 Sands
5 Famechon
6 Rose
7 Darcinyan
8.Griffiths
9 Carruthers
10 Ellis

I would have Harding in there somewhere. I mean you have Ellis in there after all.

Harding was in one of the best World Title fights I've seen.

my last pick was a toss up between harding, ellis and michaels. went for ellis for no great reason.. maybe because he won his title at such a young age

I don't even know some of these boxers you mentioned.

Ah I don't know that much, mate. I only have a really surface deep knowledge of Australian boxing history, but I like to read and I'm working on it.

dave sands is probably top 5 imo

kostya and darchy are in the top 3
i cbf to make a full list

Darchinyan is definately a proper Australian...............
