I'm taking from something that was asked in another thread.

Is it good for a natins leader to have served in the military..

This thread is not intended for talk of Bush or Kerry--
This is a general question aimed at any country

I belive it is very good - It means they have discipline, they have guts, they served thier country, they were willing to put thier life on the line for thier country.

I can't see a bad point to it.

Only the dumbest and most violent people(unless you don't have $ for college, have limited carreer options or little direction in life) now choose to serve in the military. The best and brightest go to Harvard and Oxford. The idea that a world leader should have served in the military is antiquitaded.

Did Clinton have military experience?

No, but he was a Rhodes scholar. Say what you will about his morality, but he was a smart man. He ran the country more like a republican, very strong fiscally. The strongest the economy's ever been.

I think people liked Clinton because they could relate to him. Who do we have more in common with, a rich Daddys boy that did cocain, drunk driving, used his fathers name to get out of it, and then again in his future political endevors OR a pot smoking, big mac eating fornicator that liked to **** white women with big butts?

Clinton managed to destroy our military intelligence and shut down a rediculous amount of military bases. And he did a ton of democratic like things with welfare and all that other bull****.

The country was run by republicans - when clinton was in office the house of representatives were a heavy majority of Republicans.

clinton was president at a good time - You can not say the economy did well because of him.

Its like saying the economy has been douing bad because of bush. And we all know this is not the case. 9/11 and other misfortunes destroyed the economy and now he's just trying to pick up the pieces.

And also what the **** did Clinton do when we were attacked by terrorist. When they tried to bomb trhe world trade the first time. He fired a ****ing missle and blew up a asprin factory. Maybe if he would have actually acted like a man with some balls instead of worrying about getting his balls licked - honsetly we may have not have had to deal with the tragedy of 9/11.

with all the military advisers that the president has, i really don't think his personal military experience would matter too much as that of his own personal disciplined integrety.

the key to leadership is to simply make the best decisions. military experience may discipline certain individuals if they need it- therefore giving them the necessary tools to make good decisions. but some people can be just as efficient of leaders without any direct military experience.

think about it, if you manage to put yourself in position to becoming the most powerful man on the planet....well you probably already have some damn good decision making skills.

Chris about clinton shuting down miltary bases. He did the right thing, most of them were out of date and shuting down radar station from the 1950 is a good idea. New technologies still put the us miltary on top.

I like the idea of having a leader with military experience. If I was in the miltary and the prez send me to war without being in it himself, I would be a little pissed.

well then you'd be a pretty ****ty soldier cause i think gengis khan was the last leader that fought while remaining "president". anywayz, i think it's best that we keep a president around and out of danger cause of the lil decision making factor that i mentioned above.

Hey I would just trust a guy alittle more if he had been in war himself.
