the fish store that I work at has an alligator that's about 11 years old and only about 3 feet long. his growth was stunted by being placed in cooler water and only being fed 4 oz. of food each week.

I take him out all the time, and let him run around the store. He gets all pissed off and hisses and bites at everything, but he's really cool.

No, I didn't. The store owner did. I feel really bad for him, and if I could afford it, I'd buy him and give him an entire room to live in, so he could grow to his normal size. I feel terrible, cause he's in a 180 gal. tank, and barely has room to turn around. That's why I take him out all the time and let him run around the store.

The cool water and lack of enough food did more than stunt his growth. He's retarded. We can't feed him live food (like fish) because it takes him too long to hunt it down. When alligators go under water, they have a 3rd eyelid that they close so they can still see underwater. He doesn't know how to use it, and he completely shuts his eyes, and can't catch anything. He also has terrible vision, and I have to follow him around the store or else he runs into everything.
