Hubby and I need some right now. We are fighting with the school district out here to get help for our son, which, by law, he is entitled to. We requested a Due Process Hearing and it has been granted. We have a lot of prep work to do, and we are doing all of it ourselves since an attorney is out of our price range.

Please pray for us and our son. If we can FINALLY get the help he needs, maybe, just maybe he will graduate from high school in four years. He is currently failing 3 classes and they are all academic. We've been begging for help for three years and recently went thru a traumatic experience whereas we have come out with the belief that we were betrayed by the school (they lied to us) and that they don't give a damn about him because he could cost them money. Our son is labled disabled according to their own paperwork and they do nothing to help. He is ADD from a brain injury and needs help. He doesn't need alot of help, but he needs some in order to fullfil their mission statement which is to give each student the skills needed to become a productive member in the working world.

Sorry for the ramble.....frustrated, excited and scared all at the same time.

so what's this special help that they're supposed to be giving to him and what kinda special help is it?

and even though the public school system has a nice cheesy mission statement...do you honestly think that it's 100% sincere?? are you really banking on them guaranteeing him to get the proper skills?
skills are only properly taught & utilized by the willing and if he's not willing then it's not the school's fault. he may not be getting the full extent of the publically sponsered scholastic missions but there are people out in the world that are given a lot less opportunity and are still making the best of what they have AND keeping a positive attitude.

We have the paperwork to support that if he recieves either extra tutoring or is put in a smaller classroom size, he benefits from that and can learn. ADD is a learning disability. He is unable to learn effectively.

Read a book called "Healing ADD: The Breakthrough Program That Allows You to See and Heal the 6 Types of ADD"

It can teach you about ADD. There is so much that I've learned about it and it's amazing what goes on in the heads of someone who has ADD and why they do the things they do.

I refuse to allow my son to become a criminal.

I'll not pray MCM, you know, but I'm with you and your son and I know there are something in this world that will help you: The Hope and your own Power & Force.

My biggest hopes are with you...
