Anderson Silva discussed former teammate Wanderlei Silva’s move to 185 pounds last week, calling it “pretentious.” Wanderlei hasn’t taken too kindly to Anderson's remarks.

“I thought it was excellent being quoted by the champion without having had a fight in (Anderson’s) division,” Wanderlei told Sherdog.com. “It’s a sign that I’m already bothering him. Nobody kicks a tree that is not able to give fruits.”

Wanderlei also criticized Anderson for discussing Chute Boxe training sessions.

“Anyone who is a man knows that training shouldn’t be talked about. That’s a basic rule for any fighter: training is training. I’ll not say that I already knocked him out in training. … What happens in training has to stay inside the gym. Training is training and a real fight is a real fight.

“He is too ****y. I hope he can read this. … I never talked anything bad about him; I always respected him. He has always been my friend, always respected me, but now he came with that statement. I can’t understand that. I didn’t come down to 185 to face him. Actually I didn’t have that intention. … Changing divisions and fighting the champion would be too pretentious. I should have to have many fights before facing him, but concerning his last statements, I think the way is open and the war is declared.

“If he beats Thales, we will meet and we will see if he will be able to do everything he says. … He knows me; I know him. We trained a lot together. He knows my failures, but I also know his failures, and I know nobody has given him a hard time. Nobody has beaten his face badly. I believe the future is pretty promising. Let’s wait and see.”

While Wanderlei declared war on one former teammate, he opened the doors of his gym to another in Rafael Cordeiro, who recently left Chute Boxe.

“Besides being a great friend, Rafael is one of the best MMA trainers in the world,” Wanderlei said. “I can say that because I was trained by him for more than 10 years. The doors of my academy are open to him. It would be a pleasure to be trained by him again.”

I think he has a point, Anderson is too ****y.

Wanderlei gets respect in da streets.

Anderson don't.

Really though, Anderson is being a prick about this and taking it much too personally. Wanderlei is a nice guy, you can see from all of his interviews.

WTF? Wandy is trash. He got KTFO by Cro-Cop in the HW division in pride and quit. Got KTFO by Rampage and trashed by Liddell...

Now he pulls a ***** move and moves to 185???

wandy shouldn't be trying to start a war with da spider, it's a war wandy can't win

Anderson would retire Wandy at this stage of their careers

Wandy would get Chris Leben'd if he fought Anderson.

Wandy's been through too many wars already, i don't see him stringing enough victories together at 185 to even get a fight with Anderson

Wandy is an ******* with a lot of dickriders. I don't like the way he pushed Page after defeating him twice and I'm glad Page K.O'd his ass. I don't think he will make it past Franklin......at least I hope not. Either way A.Silva > W.Silva all day on technique alone.

anderson has looked like a b-rate fighter last two outings in all honesty

as much as i dislike wanderlei he could upset anderson if he gets stuck in early, but its not likely is it. wanda doesnt attack anymore, at least like he used to, and he would just sit off anderson and get his ass handed to him, as most anderson opponents do.

btw...thales leites....
what a joke :spankme:

last round, needs a ko or submission to win...throws 3 punches ? nothing else....
hope he goes back to brazil and retires. well, falls over brazil, in the hope they will go down on him

well Wanderlei main events at UFC 99 ... and with Anderson having back to back disappointing performances

maybe Dana White will consider Wandy getting a crack at the belt in the near future

since the Henderson/Bisping winner will probably get the next crack at Anderson

If the Anderson of late shows up to fight, he might just get his first spankin'.

nope, i don't see Wandy floppin to the ground everytime anderson moves forward.

Cote & Leites didn't give anderson an opportunity to counter much because they just didn't strike much.

Wandy will never be a guy who doesn't strike much. he'll get countered repeatedly if they fight

its not like Anderson is losing technique, he's just not initiating the striking, preferring to counter. against wandy he would be able to counter all day.
