Hopefully that tomorrow will soon come then, you should just ask your mate to stop going round your house with it and it wont tempt you anymore... then you will be in the right frame of mind to get back into the gym.

Your choice anyway your life, just a little advice. :fing02:

If your not serious about thegame then you **** around.. USA boxing doesdrug tests and something like less than 1% of all athelets test positive. a drink once in a blue is ok if the next day is an off day of training(sunday)

wait a mintue what drugs are u doing that u cant sleep Cocaine? cuz if ur geting hooked on that id suggest a rehab

I'm guessing he was still tweaked when he posted this. I've had friends get ****ed over by this drug man, it aint pretty, especially if they have no self control. You need to lay down the pipe man and think about what you want out of this life, boxing will be able to help you get out of it, trust me.

Not sport vs. sport smart guy. LOL. Speedos and shaved legs vs. btiches and money? Yeah, istead of boxingscene.com, swimmingscene.com.
*yuk-yuk*

Who wants to shave their legs?? LOL.

No, I'm talkin about the lung capacity and the cardio involved IMO, swimming is harder on the lungs than fighting. Because your lungs are submerged in water. Agree? Disagree? :dunno:

Swimming is NOT harder on the lungs than boxing. Your lungs are not submerged in water, your still breathing through your nose and mouth, and it is still flowing through your lungs the same if you are in water or not in water. If your lungs were submerged in water, you'd de be dead.

he probably meant that it's much harder to maintain good breath control in a swimming competition because if not you'll intake water and possibly (insert bad situation here). as opposed to boxing where you can use the ring to move around and regain some breath or wave it off if it's too much. But if you're in an olympic size swimming pool that's deep as well you're whole body is moving and using up far more oxygen than boxing coupled along with the fact that it may be more than 10 feet deep you're in a dangerous situation. Not saying boxing isn't dangerous but I'm speaking on behalf of experience in swimming. As far as Michael phelps is concerned not everyone can duplicate this feat he may also train a bit more just to get at that same level of "breath" that a person who doesn't smoke has and EXCEED it at the same time. so what if he stopped smoking? would his breath be godly? haha seems like a funny thought.

well, i did not go to gym today like i said, im really feeling kinda weak and sick... yeah on monday for sure i'll go to the gym and will quit this sh1t before monday begins.... if not then i dunno.. fuk it... but it got my weight down im now 117lbs... 3weeks ago i was 125.. it kinda brings down my weight a lot... because i don't feel like eating or anything when i do it. So yeah maybe it has its benefits too.

Ace Dutrey
04-17-2009, 12:19 PM
It has no benefits and you should stop. Or else you're going to get tired and eventually not care about hearing "I told you so's" and then no one can help you. I know of a few people dying from Meth. Just a little more, just a little more, and I'll quit it's always like that, you should already know that, and if you do, then why you would keep doing it is all up to you. What are you trying to gain by telling people online about this?. Are you tweaking? upset/depressed that you're doing this? Boredom? What? What is it? Is your friend selling it to you? If you're boy is a meth head then there's one of two things. He's either making money off of you and disguising under the guise of friendship or he's an addict that's looking for someone to share this with to lessen the burden of having to live with this so he can feel better about himself. I'm sorry I don't know you from a hole in a wall but you're ****ing up big time.:grr:

If you're at all wanting to achieve the next level, then you'll stop. If not, then you'll keep smoking. All it takes is willpower.

Respect. Word.

Your lungs are still underwater...you're lungs aren't filled with water, then you'll be dead.

Are you sure? It seems to me all that deep breathing and holding your breathe takes more of a toll on the lungs. You're not supposed to hold your breath in boxing, but you hold your breath in swimming.

I box i don't swim, so i really wouldn't know what i'm talking about. (about swimming) BUT, IMO i think swimming has more lung capacity implications as opposed to fighting, which uses constant cardio; inhaling and exhaling. You can't inhale and exhale in water. Yaddada?

FYI: BHOP is the fcukin man.

No doubt. Respect. Word.

But if you're genetically structured to handle both in a controlled, moderate fashion, then who's to judge whether or not it's right or wrong. Who's to say, "You can't acheive this if you do that..."

Obviously Michael Phelps did it (along with other countless olympians who do smoke ERB). 8 gold medals this guy achieved. Of course, he wasn't smoking while he was on his mission, BUT he smoked enough to get his reputation tainted.

Marvin Hagler, arguably one of the greats, smoked Erb and he had the best 4 rounds of boxing. Mike Tyson (aside from how his career went) smoked treez, dust, coke and he was a multi-million dollar draw. Micky Ward was scoring crack or meth weeks before the Gatti confrontation and he's a grand prize-fighter. Ken Norton was another potential budsmoker and he beat ALI!! Athletes and bud are not a new concept. Mayorga and his cigarettes? WAAAY worse than THC and he's a prize fighter gettin paid. Mosely and his steroids? And people are trippin about THC? You can kill someone in the ring if you're on steroids, that's just fcuked up.

I'm not disagreeing with you. In fact i agree. Yes, if you want to be the best you can be, ya gotta put the pipe down. BUT, if you can handle both and still maintain...don't hate, congratulate. I'm not encouraging it, but i'm not looking down upon it either. It all depends on how you handle yourself and conduct yourself; and your training habbits. There are stoners on this scene who have disillusions about boxing, and they don't even train, thinking they can make it. Then there are boxers on this scene who dabble a little THC to take the edge off and relax them muscles. THEN, there are all the other boxers/budsmokers who don't smoke but vape.

Me? Personally, i put it down. Weed is in my past. Sure i indulge here and there in moderation. And if i do, i ain't smokin. But by no means do i allow it to affect my training. I'm always in control, not the substance. I don't booze or smoke, like a lot of fighters, which i think is waay worse.

True true swimming does have more lung capacity implications cause of the constant holding breath you gotta do. I never swam competitively so I have no reference, but you're right that makes sense.

my only suggestion to you is go to a long term treatment center.. you can move cities but u bring the demons with you, especially if u have no support group.. what u need is therapy and a means to get your life back on track.. a long term treatment rehab center will work for you if u want it, and im not talking a 28 day program im talking 6 months to a year.. believe me

i think this is a valid post. a lot of us come from a weed smoking environment and culture being surrounded by friends that smoke it daily

i love that stoned feeling but it makes me feel like **** and takes away my motivation

i love more the feeling of well being from consistent training and a healthy diet. its great when you wake up in the morning and your mind is sharp and clear and your body is ready to go... much better than waking up and feeling tired and lazy

i control my weed habit by going for a run if i get that weed urge. its difficult especially when the weekend arrives... i hope you find your balance between weed and training. for some of the guys here they wont understand but i know what your going through
