A job starting at 30k b/c the economy is so bad and the IT field is flooded up the ass! I want to sit Bill Gates down and see if he can pass these ****in microsoft tests..DOUBT IT!

Yeah, IT is pretty saturated right now. Especialyy up here in Oregon, with Intel and HP imlpementing hiring freezes and layoffs. The economy is still pretty ****ty. I'm sure it'll pick up soon though nick(I hope, for all our sakes)!

I took the A+ and Network+ cert test... passed em about 5 years ago. Tough as hell and to this day have no clue on what I learned. Its all "out of book" ****, which sucks. However, I hear that the MCSE is more hands on. I did'nt get that far, but hopefully it'll intrigue you to move forward with this.

And Oh...... that ****** Rasheed is going down! Minus $10 off my tab. BOOM!

Those certifications are only worth while if you do not have a degree and need some sort of paper behind you to get a job.

Even then a Cisco or Microsoft cert will probably carry you further, depending on what sort of work you want to do.

Certifications are good for one thing. If you and another applicant are both being considered for a job, he with the most certs likely wins the position.

The IT field does suck, as i've been working for over 2 years for a company that keeps my hours at 35/week so they don't have to pay me benefits, and underpays me severely at a mere 15 bucks an hour, which i had to fight for after about 2 years of making 12 measley bucks an hour.

I missed getting into this field by about 2 years, and now i want out and to become a cop, which apparently i missed the good window for as well. Even the bigger cities here like New Haven which just posted 25 openings for, received 480 applicants. rediculous.

After passing my MCSE I found work rather quickly. I found my job 3 days after my certification.

I am also in IT and would rather be the floor cleaner in a peep show than keep doing this

A jobs a job. Nobody really like working. Unless I become a pro fight or Rugby player I'll never really be happy at work.
