UGK is argubly the best gansta rap duo to ever do it..
I remember being in middle school in 1991 listening to two young raw cats from Texas on Too Hard To Swallow....

What you think? Wu Tang or UGK??
This may be bias but I absolutely hated the overall style and flow of Wu Tang..It may just be a region thang..
Floyd Sinclair 04-15-2009, 03:41 PM its most likely a region thing, im going with wu-tang on this...i never really got into UGK (no hate)
Truth 04-15-2009, 04:16 PM Wu-Tang forever..............
black.ink 04-15-2009, 04:56 PM UGK are one of the finest duo's to have ever graced the mic. Arguably the best thing to come from the south along with Scarface and Outkast.
But..........
Nobody, and i mean nobody comes close to the Wu!

I don't even think YOU believe that LOL
All of Wu Tang's solo albums have sold more than anything UGK's put out in total. I respect UGK a lot too, but you're simply bating people. If you had said maybe Bootcamp Click (who rivaled Wu song for song in the 90s), it MIGHT be a legit argument. There hasn't nor ever will be a 9 man crew like Wu Tang.
I can almost guarantee Bun B himself will tell you, "Nah ni99a chill...LOL"

Every single UGK album you can pop in and bang it from front to back without skipping a song.

****, take album sales out of it...
Look at Wu's catalog just on their solo joints alone. Cuban Linx is regarded as one of the best Hip Hop albums of all time. Then there's Liquid Swordz, Iron Man, Supreme Clientele, ****...those alone are enough, and I'm not even dissin UGK at all because I like them, but comparing them to Wu is pointless. The Wu have a cult following AROUND THE WORLD. Do you think UGK can sell out a 25,000 seat arena just based on UGK? Highly doubtful.
sisforshaq 04-15-2009, 06:39 PM It's purely a regional thing. They are both two of the most important groups to ever touch a mic and come into hip hop. I listen to more UGK then Wu Tang but love all the classics from each.
Savino 04-15-2009, 06:54 PM each to their own but probaly go with the WU just cos listend to them alot more than UGK.
KILLA RIGHT 04-15-2009, 07:12 PM There not even close. Rza's production alone>>ugk's careers..People never mention rza is part of the group most of the young producion came from the group unlike alot of groups who have multiple producers..like g-unit and other groups none of them are producers from the group like a havoc. That has to come to play as best groups

They are both GREAT hip hop acts so I couldn't get mad at anyone for thinking so. UGK has dropped classic albums and several incredible songs throughout time. "One Day....." is a top 10 song all-time IMO.
neils7147933 04-15-2009, 11:26 PM UGK is solid, but on a lyrical level is light-years behind Wu-Tang, from a creative standpoint is behind them too, and Greatest-Hit-For-Greatest-Hit is behind Wu-Tang too...
