The Hillsborough Disaster was a deadly human crush that occurred on 15 April 1989, at Hillsborough, a football stadium home to Sheffield Wednesday in Sheffield, England, resulting in the deaths of 96 people (all fans of Liverpool Football Club). It remains the deadliest stadium-related disaster in British history.

40 of those that died were under 21 many of those children.

Rest in peace, you are not forgotten.

Been an Everton fan it don't matter about the colours today it is about coming together as a city. I'm going down at 4 to anfield to drop some flowers and scalfs down.

R.I.P no one deserves to lose their lives in such a way, especially watching a football game.

It doesn't get as much publicity or column inches, so the "downtrodden" Liverpudlian mass don't bother.

I also find it distasteful on behalf of the rest of England, we should ALL mourn the 96 equally as much as the Liverpool tribe.

I don't think that's strictly fair. You can't generalise scousers on the actions of a few hooligans.

But I also don't like how the fact of loads of freeloading scally's rushing the open gate for free without tickets gets conveniently forgot.

If they hadn't gained ILLEGAL entry, then the population would be 96 people better off today.

Before I get shouted down, I'm also aware that the decision making by the authority's wasn'y enviable....but..... they shouldn't have been made to make the mistake which was caused by scousers looking for a free ride.

And Millwall and Aberdeen and UEFA and the Belgian police and the stadium and the Juventus fans....

**** it, I'll generalize on my experience of them (actual Liverpool supporters, not scousers per se) - self-righteous, hypocritical, wretched.

Just my 2 penneth, seeing as a fall-out was inevitable as soon as Malcolm. showed his face in the thread.

How about the crowd stopped acting like racist scum for just one match as a tribute. Though it was to much of a step.
