I dont like this kid but im gonna give his album a chance...
Floyd Sinclair 04-12-2009, 01:39 PM a couple of the songs are ok, hes got a handful of good beats on here, and some of the things he says are funny but overall i dont really like this cd. I give it a 2/5
EDIT: After listening to this, maybe that new eminem song isnt too bad...
*shrugs*
Savino 04-12-2009, 01:44 PM I like that I As Em beat.

I totally agree with you mac.
It actually sounds like some high school rap/dance music
neils7147933 04-12-2009, 09:22 PM I like this album...it's okay
3 1/2 mic disc; not a bad debut... I think he's capable of a tighter album though

His Dream and Fallin' are my favorite tracks on the disc...
I honestly think Asher's got a classic in him based on raw talent. There are a few other rappers out right now like that too... some of the folks on this board are of the opinion that I don't like anyone post-2000 as a quality rapper but not necessarily true...
Ludacris is another example of someone I think who has a 5-mic inside him; I just think our visions of what needs to be on a final cut of an album are different, and he's obviously got distractions with his acting career...
mohithiphop11 04-12-2009, 10:16 PM M gonna cop it.
sisforshaq 04-12-2009, 11:43 PM Is it edited?? The zip file seems to be.

Several of the songs don't have any curses in them, some of the singles have some obvious profanities missing...maybe there is no explicit version like the Chamillionaire Ultimate Victory CD?
Anyone know if there are separate explicit/edited versions of this album?
supRa 04-13-2009, 02:11 AM helll yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Texasboy34 04-15-2009, 12:31 PM All the links are down... can someone re-up?
Floyd Sinclair 04-15-2009, 02:12 PM First off, I just wanna clear up some things...
The reason why i dislike Asher Roth has nothin to do with him being a white rapper or sounding anything like Eminem. I didnt like the 3 or 4 songs that I had heard from him prior to the release of his album.
After listening to his album twice, i have no idea why this kid has a strong buzz going...actually, its probably because hes white and the cooperate jews are giving him some extra promotion.
The cd was terrible, if i was to buy it the only thing i would use it for is rollin up my weed on. I was surprised by how bad it was, I see theres some people on here and other sites that like him. I figured that his cd would at least be decent. A couple of the beats are cool, but thats about the only good thing i can say about this cd.
supRa 04-15-2009, 02:16 PM i thought his mixtape was hot ...
u ever heard that 1 gold mac?
green house effect is what its called
Floyd Sinclair 04-15-2009, 02:25 PM ^^
i think i heard a few of the songs, ill think about checkin it out because i do remember alotta people likin it, but theres also alotta people that like his album so im not sure if its worth my time
Texasboy34 04-15-2009, 02:29 PM ^^ Being white is not a given to help you out. There are several GOOD white rappers out that always fly under the radar. Guys that I think could rap circles around Asher... Haystak, Atmosphere, Ill Bill are just a few... I do think Asher's music should not be taken too serious... its just party music IMO. Kind of like old Beastie Boys stuff.
Floyd Sinclair 04-15-2009, 02:49 PM i only brought up white rappers because some people feel that asher roth is only hated because he is white...to be honest, theres not many white rappers that i like except eminem and the alchemist, even though he barely ever raps.
Savino 04-15-2009, 02:54 PM I thought it was a solid album. enjoyed listening to the album.

At least half of the songs are hot, Ash can rap circles around 90% of active MCs...
Someone needs to edit his CD to get crap like "I love College" off of it, but I say you're way too hard on the album

Do you have anything else to say? Im entitled to my own opinion, and I already stated that i listened to the cd twice. The first time i really wasnt feeling it, but because of the buzz its received i chose to listen to it a 2nd time. Its straight up garbage, somethin to roll weed on. Honestly, that new jim jones cd >> this. Theres no more then 2 hot songs on this cd.
neils7147933 04-21-2009, 12:59 AM This is a nice intro to Asher...kind of like "Juicy" on the Biggie debut album...but in Asher's world
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/k3AtdajuvIk&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/k3AtdajuvIk&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Here's another serious song that I think shows he's not restricted to the silly pop songs to perform on MTV Spring Break. Seriously, this one is the best written one on the album
<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rjJLOYDsgKM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rjJLOYDsgKM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
This one has an old Fresh Prince/Young MC/Tone Loc vibe to it

MetalVomit 04-22-2009, 08:51 PM very well produced. I like most of the beats. It's a decent album. I don't think I'll buy it, but it's ok.
