I thought that it is good to have a tribute thread for Chris Byrd (and not have this thread started by CITA ;)


I have really enjoyed Chris's boxing skills and determination. I will be eagerly waiting for Vitali-Chris rematch.

It will be a great fight.

I was getting happy when Byrd got knocked down, but I give him credit for coming back after losing the first half or so of the fight!!! Congrats Chris!!!

Yes, well done...giving away 56 pounds and taking those shots was pretty gutsy. He couldn't punch his way out of a wet paperbag, but he boxes brilliantly that's for sure.Congrats.

A good thought; I only expected tribute threads created for Byrd to be made by no other han CITA. A surprise if anyone else made any

yes Byrd is great but...... why Golota was robbed and not have title vs. Byrd?? Im from Poland and i think i hate USA sometimes.......

I, myself was a Byrd hater. Not a major fan yet, but Byrd did show a few things that answer the question "Why is Chris Byrd a HeavyWeight?

He can take a punch.

He can recover from a punch when he is rocked.

He is primarily a boxer but he did rock Mcline.

I was happy to him go down, but at the end of the fight, I was pleased that he won. I do not think he can get by Vitali, but I give him a better chance of winning that fight now. After the Golata fight I thought Vitali would chew him up and spit him out. He should go for the rematch with Wlad. That is a HW that Byrd could easily KO.


Am I a devoted Byrd Fan? NO
Do I think he has a chance to beat anybody in the HW division? Yup

Dont you remember the first fight between them.

No its Vit and chris who got unsettled buizness.

Chris is a good boxer and got a good chin, but vit will take him one way ore the other.
