My Fenech's ripped after 1 and half months of use which is pretty disappointing. What brand do you guys have good experiences with as I still prefer to buy domestically owned gear?

View Full Version : Best Aussie brand for gloves? Featherweight89 04-10-2009, 10:10 AM My Fenech's ripped after 1 and half months of use which is pretty disappointing. Buy Reyes if you're serious or Everlast if your just mucking around. RightCross94 04-11-2009, 03:15 AM i train with a brand called bronx boxing, theyre not bad punch is pretty durable too id like to get a pair of reyes but theyre just too expensive and hard to obtain mgkirkpatrick 04-11-2009, 06:54 AM I need a new pair of 16ozs... spent an hour in Rebel today trying gloves on, didn't find a single pair I'd call good. Even the Everlasts felt like sock 'em bop 'em inflatables havoc 04-11-2009, 07:12 AM ive mostly trained in fairtex, twins, and MTG. the velcro on twins are terrible and the padding on all these gloves arent really good for hand protection. I used supatuff and Morgan 16 oz for sparring.(both fell apart) you can really hurt your thumb on supatuff's coz it sticks out. I have a mate that bought a pair of cleto reyes from cletoreyes.com.au for over $230. I was planning on getting a 16oz myself but read somewhere that they cut your sparring partner and hurts coz everyone knows that cleto reyes are the "punchers glove" im going to go on titleboxing.com and get a pair of everlast 16oz and an Affliction shirt and hope it is under $200 all up. skyler 04-11-2009, 09:04 AM Depends what size I use 10 oz green hill gloves for bag work.. which are used in amateur comp.. and I like them better then the any of big name gloves like cleto reyes.. RingSport carry some good good gear. http://www.ringsport.com.au/l75/boxing-gloves havoc 04-13-2009, 05:37 AM If i use 14oz Rival Sparring Gloves do you think other trainers and sparring partners are cool with that? I weigh about 66kg. Is there somekind of unwritten rule in gyms where you HAVE to use 16oz gloves? I'd get the 16oz but they are not available. I dont like the Twins or Supatuff 160z coz i've had them before and they are too loose skyler 04-13-2009, 05:50 AM If i use 14oz Rival Sparring Gloves do you think other trainers and sparring partners are cool with that? I'm only about 57kg though. havoc 04-14-2009, 07:47 AM Every gym is different, some gyms it's strictly 16 oz for sparring.. in our gym id usually spar in 16 oz but with people our own weight we would spar with as low as 10 oz.. I walk around 66kg and 5'8 height. i dont like to diet and cut weight anymore I already ordered the 14oz rival so i'll let everyone know how they are mgkirkpatrick 04-14-2009, 10:01 AM Picked up some very nice feeling Madison 16ozs today. See how they go in sparring tomorrow. skyler 04-14-2009, 11:06 AM Skyler, if you fight at 57kg how much do you normally weigh? I walk around 66kg and 5'8 height. i dont like to diet and cut weight anymore I already ordered the 14oz rival so i'll let everyone know how they are I'm pretty much always in fighting shape, so my normal weight is never over 60kg.. i'm also one of those guys that can eat what ever they want and not put on any weight, I used to be able to barely make 48kg a couple years ago but id rather fight at 54-57 where i feel more comfortable and don't have to worry about cutting a lot of weight.. havoc 04-16-2009, 05:13 AM i just go my Rival Blue 14 oz today.. they are NICE!!! the fit is tightand for sure you won't injure your thumb. the leather seems durable. you can't see 14 oz outside the glove so nobody would be able to tell hehehe mgkirkpatrick 04-16-2009, 10:39 AM I'm thinking of getting Madison gloves too. Let us know how they are. Really nice, mate. Compact and comfortable. We'll see if they pass the test of time. Harder to get, but also nice to wear, are Lonsdale's. |
