it was actually overrated by mainstream media. I thought it was a solid effort, but I think Wayne can do better, especially given the hype he receives by the media and by calling himself the best alive.

I thought it was gonna be gay but I really like that last one.

Is that weezer singing in it?

I agree, its not worth all the sales it did...and wayne could have done better. If he got those beats a year earlier the cd would have been alot better. His lyrics have really declined over the past couple of years. Hes still got many different flows, and he tried to be versatile on that.

weezer? singin? which one?

Gold Mac, is that first song from the Carter 3?

yea, all 4 songs are from carter 3

Then I need to buy the Carter 3.

Honestly I've never been a Wayne fan, but for you to keep co-signing him...he must be good. Gold Mac doesn't co-sign bad rappers...

It's overrated (I own it btw, for my collection). There are several albums that are better from last year, and a few mainstream ones aswell. I give it a 6/10, some good tracks but the album is plagued with filler/radio friendly songs (IE: Got Money, Comfortable, Mrs. Officer, Lollipop, La-La-I don't need to go on). Very mediocre album, and an even bigger dissapointment because Tha Carter II is a southern classic and he had been killin' the mixtape circuit for a while before Tha Carter III dropped.

What happened to gems like this he had on his mixtapes?

Weedplate......................

A few decent tracks. Wayne fell off lyrically. Production is nice.

Far from a back packers and far from a Wayne hater.

It wasn't good, period. It was by far the worst of the Carter albums, of which there was only one that was pretty good. It wasn't that terrible compared to some of the other garbage that MTV puts out. But the fact that it has gone triple plat and went hit platinum within a week, while Nas' "Untitled" released to less than 200k sales in the same week and still hasn't even hit 500k just tells you how many ****ing morons are out there who don't listen to what they're listening to.

There are a few good instrumentals on there, namely Mr. Carter... Too bad Hova came weak on that one so as not to piss off Weezy by showing him up on the intro track to his own album.

GM, you def posted the best songs from The Carter III, and I agree that songs like "Mrs. Officer" and whatnot are what brought the album down. Wayne had some great tracks in the ones that GM posted, good ****.
