I got on that **** today at boxing.... DAMN. I did like a mile and a half of stairs and left like I was about to die. I kept having to take breaks. I burn like twice the calories on there. I think I have a new substitute. You can have crazy stamina with that machine

I think I sweated off about 4 pounds with me being on there for 10min.

You need to try this machine, you wouldn't have time to be watchin' fights. You gotta make sure you don't bust your ass!

Never tried a stair climber, but we've got a Airdyne bike in our gym and it's killer.

Twenty seconds going full out then ten seconds rest, and repeat for three three minute rounds with thirty seconds rest in between.

My 4 year old can do that machine, not a challenge to what I posted.

The stair climber alone can make you have great stamina. I was huffing and ****. I don't do that unless I do sprints.

We had one of those at Galaxy and it was part of my workout after all else was done, besides cals and such. I loved it man, James was always on it to. I always had trouble with my knees so it helped alot when I wasnt running the roads and such. Great to sweat off those last few pounds too.

Hey vers, its been awhile since Ive been here. Are you still fighting aqnd if so hows it been going for you.................Rockin':boxing:

It may be a great workout, but they are terrible for you knees. You might not feel anything, but doing them for a long time will wear out the knees much faster.

Well, if you can do them for hours then its obviously not "crazy cardio."

I had trouble with my knees while running, swelling pain the whole bit. I NEVER had any trouble with my knees after working a stair master. I much preferred using that than running, even skipping rope.

I completly disagree with your comment.................Rockin':boxing:

Were you wearing a security helmet like the dude in the picture when you tried it? :poke:

Haha, honestly i'd love to have one of those, in terms of burning fat and calories, climbing stairs is one of the best activities, better than running.

Nordic track has that incline treadmill up to 40% incline 5 times the calories burned and since its more about doing hard stuff slow as long as you can instead of easy stuff fast for a period of time you tend to burn almost all fat calories instead of using up carbs that could be giving you energy to spar..... its different to spend 10 min jogging as fast as you can at 2 miles an hour and wring the sweat out of your beanie

They do hurt your knees but i think its just because your knees aren't used to it my personal experience is that i started using the stair master at my gym about 15 min 3 times for the week then that weekend i went for my long run and i was barely able to do 6 miles before my knee just about gave out. the next week i stayed at the same pace maybe alittle faster with the stair master for about 15 min by the second day the pain was gone and that weekend i had no problem with 2 hours of running(about 10- 12 miles) ive since switched to the incline tread but have yet to experience any knee problems since then which was about 5 months ago

:ok:

It may not feel as bad, maybe you have certain bag things about you knees that make you feel the pounding from running, but its a scientific fact that going up stairs is much worse for you knees. Like I said, you may not feel it, but your cartilage will wear out much faster. But don't listen to me, I don't mind fuktards becoming unable to walk in their future. Please, be my guest and climb 100 flights of stairs daily.

its alot worse for your knees tho....

A stair master is a great work out in addition to other cardio. One key element is to keep your hands off the rails. Don't hold on whatsoever.
