This is in response to the posts in my last thread.

I'm white. I deal with hearing racial slurs all the time against the white race and so do my kids. I teach them to ignore it. My daughter was beat up along with her boyfriend for being white. My son got smacked by the police captain's daughter for being white. Do we threaten people with violence for their poor choice of words? NO.....to those who do, you're stupid. Violence won't solve a damn thing when it comes to the slurs, only prove what kind of person you are.

I DO NOT USE RACIAL SLURS against anyone that is not of my race. If you stop and think about it, the biggest reason racism is still alive is because of people like those who made remarks on this forumn. You have to be bigger than those who make those kinds of comments. I, personally, could care less what color your skin is....just the type of person you are on the inside. That's what really counts.

I was dumbfounded (but not speechless) by the responding posts and I still stand be what my last two words were. I can't believe that you were like that towards me and my son, to whom I've had problems with. Some friends you guys turned out to be.

Racial slurs can be funny sometimes too. A lot of people on this board call me Canuck because they think its a racial slur towards Canadians. We have a hockey team called the Canucks. If it was a slur, why would we do that? You will never see a basket-ball called the n****** so what would we have a hockeyteam named the canucks if its supposed to be a racial slur?

And MCM, if your son really did call someone a ******, you really can't blame them for reacting the way they did

Okay everybody needs to get over themselves and things people did to their people when they weren't even alive. I'm I pissed that Hitler stole everything the Ukraine had to fund his war machine or that the English invaded Scotland. No, I am still pissed about how the Canadian govnerment made Ukrainians move out west to farming land because we are slow and only good at farming(Okay that one may be alittle true).

I can see how the comments would make you mad, I would agree with you. But you made references to violence for a SUPPOSED comment and that's what got him hurt. A SUPPOSED COMMENT! Yes, my son doesn't always tell the truth and I did say that I don't know what to believe.

And I take offense to the same comments whether they are directed at me or not. Racism isn't allowed in my household, so the comments that were made by two people pissed me off too. We all respond out of anger at times, and that's the whole problem.

And yes, Gman was making sense. I don't have any problems with those who are dead. It's those still alive that have a tendency to piss me off.

I have learnt a lot from my hispanic friends. They have taught me everything they know about lowriders. I can now cruise and pick fruit at the sametime

In all honesty, I think that my son has just learned that crap from school and is using it not realizing what it really means. He hasn't learned it at home and he's been in trouble here for using such deragatory comments. He doesn't care for it when others use racial slurs against him.......but he's fed up with nothing being done by school officials. The name of his school? Martin Luther King.........how's that for irony?
