The win over Spinks was the most impressive in my opinion as Spinks was given a reasonable chance of upsetting Tyson but got destroyed!

What's your opinion my friends?

Good topic. Tyson's most impressive win, I think is when he

captured the heavyweight title by knocking,I mean destroying

Trevor Berbick. Now listen up, all heavyweights fighting today,

thats how you take the title. Tyson went in there, like Ali , and

took what belonged to him, the heavyweight championship belt.

When you go in there and destroy your opponent by knocking him

out their is no disputing your win.

None really , maybe because I knew he was gonna steamroll through most of his opponents, but I would say the most exciting fight I saw Mike in, was the 1st Ruddock fight, I mean f**k what you learned in the gym those two were just throwing power shots after power shots, but of course Tyson getting the better of it.

I would say the Ruddock fights were quite impressive for him. His invincability was gone and he took some wicked shots from Razor and kept coming. His early fights, everyone was so afraid of him, that he had the fights won before the bell rang. As far as Spnks goes, I knew nobody who thought Spinks could win.

The Spinks fight is Tyson's most impressive win. But the Berbick fight gets a special mention - 1) Youngest ever heavy. And 2) One of the most spectacular KO's ever.

No doubt about it for me, it was Tyson's destruction of Spinks. Not only did he take Spinks out, he also won the linear heavyweight championship in that fight.

Spinks was a terrified, rusty, knee-bandaged, former Lt Heavyweight.
The series of punches Tyson used to finish Spinks were FAR from the best ever seen from Tyson.

I say Tyson was at his best vs. Tyrell Biggs.
Biggs was a very big, slick guy. But, Tyson applied unbelievable pressure on Biggs, SMART pressure. He banged with a variety of power shots to every part of Ty's body. He brutally beat the guy down & then finished him savagely.

The fights everyone's mentioned are good, but for some reason I'm still partial to the fight against Pinklon. I mean, that's one of the few fights where I usually have to turn away because the final knockdown's so brutal. I mean, the way Tyson keeps bashing those shots into the man's alraedy disfigured face. Wow...

If I wanted to show someone who had never seen Tyson just how brtual a fighter he was, I think I'd play them this fight.

i'd say when he destoyed berbick
he was only a young man,cus d'amato had just died and he steps in the ring with a heavyweight champ.
and the rest is history as tyson's campaign of terror begins.

Though not as popular as the other fighters he faced, the way he destroyed Etienne in the Tyson-Etienne fight was a good one too (at least for Mike :))

i would have been more impressive if etienne had tried to get up, instead of lying back shutting his eyes and taking his gum-shield out.

It would be even more impressive if Etienne was better than a journeyman, who was dropped 100x by Fres Oquendo.

Tysons fight against Berbick has to be his most impressive. I mean Berbick just lost total control of his right leg from a body shot. If any of you have this fight watch how Berbick keeps trying to get up and his right leg just will not cooperate. It looks funny but this shows you just how much power and speed Tyson had as a youth.

Easily the Spinks fight. Michael Spinks was a guy who went in the ring fearless against everyone else, and Tyson blew him away. There was another fight that was identical to that. When Tyson blew away Michael Johnson.

Tyson had so many impressive wins its hard just to pick one of them. KO of berbick is probably his most impressive. First runner up could be when he knocked out bruno so the second time. I looked like a one-man wrecking machine! God, I wish that tyson would come back to boxing!

quality of opposition is tops for me, so I'd say UD12 Tucker or KO6 Pinklon Thomas. Don't know why people say Spinks since Spinks was clearly froze out mentally and didn't come to fight-how is it a great KO if you beating a guy who was scared from the bell? The Berbick KO was impressive, but Berbick was a pretty pedestrian HW . . .

Absolutely Spinks.

In most of his other fights Tyson was ther heavy favourite, but there was a big group who though Spinks could outbox Mike.

I was leaning towards Little Mac at 1st but I'm going to have to go with Spinks too. So much for him being able to keep Tyson at bay with his range.

Thanks for posting that, it was ****ing GREAT!!! Man the KO of Marvis Frazier is insane!!

Now I can see why people thought he was totally indestrucible. You throw a punch and he bobs up right next to you and you're dead 1/2 a second later. Damn thats insane.

Does anyone agree that if that white trunked Tyson fought Buster Douglas it would be over in about 60 seconds?

I agree with the point you make about Spinks the other thing for me is that I didn't feel Spinks had beaten the past his best Holmes in the rematch. I certainly felt he'd won the first bout. Although Holmes had been inactive for a while and he says hadn't had enough time to train I think that what Tyson was able to do was spectacular.

You have to relate it to the quality of opponent and Tyson usually lost to them, lewis and Holyfield. The quality of his opponents weren`t good. Spinks i guess was the best win, being it took half a round. The Tony Tucker fight could be the fight though. Tucker was undefeated, the IBF champ and it went the distance which shwed at this point Tucker was durable.

pinklon Thomas was impressive because of the brutality. Tyson kept him standing with shot after shot, and the last hook just put him to sleep. that was scary.

Trevor Berbick. The fact that Tyson becoming the youngest HW champ, and this young kid destroying the seasoned Berbick like he was nothing.

(Also Berbick falling around all over the ring trying to get up).

The Spinks fight was incredible. My favorite knock down was the first time he knocked Larry Holmes down in the 4th round of the fight. The was he threw his jab then stepped in with that huge powerful right hand. I bet Larry still fells that to this day.

Spinks, I thought did not have what it takes that time when he fought tyson. Though smaller, tyson made up for his handicap by going up on spinks the moment the bell ring. It was not a good fight because spinks did not even throw a convincing punch. Looking back, I thought the fight was a mismatch in terms of ability, power and speed. and it all favors tyson.

Holmes was already late in his prime and could not match up against the much younger and much stronger tyson, also a mismatch.

On the other hand, the berbick fight was probably the more convincing one because berbick was the champion, somehow bigger than tyson, and yet tyson knocked him out.

Definitely his win over berbick was the most impressive

Its tyson-Biggs for me.

I think that just showed what people hadnt seen before, that tysons actually a smart fighter, not just a wild swinger as some ofhis earlier fights suggested.

Spinks, Berbick, Frazier and another guy maybe Donnie Long? He kocked him down with a nice body shot then the fighter gets up and Tyson immediatley runs over and smashes him and k.o.s him.

Spinks was a good fighter but only a half decent heavyweight. Can anyone name a Tyson opponent, that he defeated apart from Spinks, that was like.....top twenety of all time??? top 25??? Because you have to weigh it up to quality of opponent don`t you, thats what make the fighter. Spinks, excellent win yes, but the fights against old Larry Holmes, Tyrell `no chin` Biggs and Tony `pass the coke` Tucker don`t do it i`m afraid. Tyso, very exciting but didn`t beat anyone that good and was beaten up by every world class figher ( apart from spinks ) he faced!

Mike beat Larry Holmes when Larry was still
pretty good, larry came back in the 1990s and
gave holyfield trouble and beat mercer 2. that
tells me that larry wasnt so washed up when tyson
knocked him out earlier in the 1980s. he also beat
the greatest light heavyweigt of all time mike spinks
in 90 seconds. he also whipped Razor Ruddock a dangerous fighter in the 1990s.
he beat
all the top contenders of the late 1980s. and he beat
the hell out of trevor berbick when he was just 20 years
old to win the title and be the youngest champ of all time
in the heavyweigts. and trevor berbick also beat ali.
that says a lot about tyson.

When Tyson KO'ed Holmes he had been away from the ring for about 2 years. He was completely inactive for those two years (he had made up his mind to quit boxing) and foolishly fought Tyson with NO tune up fight. That's how unimpressed he was with Tyson's so called awesome skills, that he staged a comeback for the sole purpose of beating him. It was incredibly stupid on his part, and I believe the older Holmes who beat Mercer in the 90's would have actually performed better than the one who was embarassed versus Tyson. Not only did Tyson beat an old faded Holmes, but it was a rusty old faded Holmes.

BTW, you owe Ali an apology for the Berbick comment. Absolutely shameless and misleading.

The biggest win was probably over Larry Holmes, for Holmes was the best boxer Tyson fought. Though Holmes was old, washed-up, and past his prime.

Most impressive win, I'll go with Biggs or Spinks.
