Stevie Ray Vaughan one of my favorites. Even when he covers Hendrix he still crushes the song in his own way.

I think I posted stuff on another thread that GoG made.

I was raised on R&B/Soul. My favorite artist in that genre (and probably in any genre) is Brian McKnight. I feel that he's the best male vocalist I have ever heard. The mans upper register is silk and few can pull of the infamous vocal run, but he does it flawlessly. Great songwriter, great musician, great artist. Some of my other favorites in this category are Anita Baker, Marvin Gaye, Donell Jones, Boyz II Men, Bill Withers, Luther Vandross, Sade and D'Angelo, among others.

I like all kinds of random Rock, Folk and Indie music (and associated sub-genres). My favorite band out there is the Dave Matthews Band. Incredible group of musicians, nobody can deny that, even if you think they are granola/overrated/whatever. I have been a huge fan ever since I heard, "So Much To Say" off the album "Crash" in like '95. Excellent, excellent album. Some other artists/groups I really like are Cake, The Doors, Beck, Iron and Wine, Jose Gonzalez etc. Grab "Our Endless Numbered Days" by Iron and Wine if you like Folk/Indie.

I have always liked Lo-Fi/Ambient/Acid Jazz/Trip-Hop/Deep House and all other types of associated sound. My two favorite acts which represent that are De Phazz (acid jazz) and Portishead (trip-hop). De Phazz is one of the best musical acts that you might not know about. Eargasms would be the best word to describe their music. Portishead is also a favorite of mine. Dummy is still one of my favorite albums to this day. Awesome, awesome music. A few other artists I like in these genres are Massive Attack (trip-hop), The Rurals (deep house), DJ Spinna (deep house/variety), Zero 7 (ambient), Tortured Soul (deep house), etc.

I also really like a lot of 80's music by great and ****ty artists alike. I LOVE Hall and Oates (no homo) and Kenny Loggins (not to say Kenny Loggins is ****ty...he's great). I pretty much like everything outside of Country music and that old Gregorian chanting ****. I do have a few country songs that I like every now and then though...I just don't really like it as an overall sound.

So there it is....you know pretty much everything there is to know about me musically.

I like the blues. It's all my dad listened to when I was growing up (well that and soul/funk). Buddy Guy, Miles Davis (well Davis is more jazz I guess) and Johnny Lee Hooker in particular.

I grew up with a family that's really into music. So I got a pretty good mix of music growing up including a lot of disco, Bob Marley, salsa, classic R&B, 90's rock, classic rock...

So basically I pretty much like everything except for most country, and a lot of heavy metal. Right now I have The Pixies - Doolittle, a 30 song Incubus mix, and Off The Wall in my album rotation to go along with my usual Hip Hop.
