my next bout is in 11 weeks (June 13) when should i start my training? And when should i start going hard? About 7 weeks out i was thinking of starting getting intense. As for now how should i be training, just lightly or take sometime off? Thanks for any advice in advance :boxing:

Damn, I wish I got 11 weeks notice for my fight.

I think the most I've ever got was a week and half other than for a tournament that we knew about months in advance.

Your coach will know what is best for you so ask him. There may be stuff you really need to work on so you should start training hard now, and then slow down as the fight gets closer. People on the internet can offer suggestions for what they would do, but only your coach knows where you are at and where you need to be for the fight.

11 weeks?? :O thats unheard of were I box lol

youv'e got plenty of time so i wouldn't worry about it too much, just make sure to make your training gradually harder over the 11 weeks

Thats loads of time dude!

You should start going for it about a month before and then really lay off in the last week. No sparring or heavy workouts - lots of pads and light running to conserve your energy. Nothing worse than getting in the ring tired.
