CARL Froch fury as TV snubs his big night

Carl Froch has branded British TV bosses "a disgrace" for turning their backs on his first world title defence.

Froch, 31, is Britain's ONLY world boxing champion - but BBC, ITV and the satellite channels don't want to know.

He defends the WBC super-middleweight crown against ex-world champ Jermain Taylor, 30, in Connecticut in four weeks' time.

A deal has been struck with US TV giant Showtime to screen the fight live in America, but British fans may not see it.

Froch blasted: "For Britain's only world champion to be in such a big fight and it not to be screened is unheard of.

"It's a disgrace if it doesn't get shown and the people of Britain haven't got a chance to see this.

"It's not like I am up against a bum or an ordinary slugger who nobody is interested in ... "Setanta say they are the home of boxing. Well, they should be getting behind a British boy."

Froch, who claimed his crown in December by beating Jean Pascal, has a massive fight on his hands at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods resort. But he knows he has the power to beat Taylor.

But all is not lost as we have done an exclusive deal with BBCSport to have the fight broadcast on Radio 5-live.

I posted a week ago it doesnt look great. A guy who runs his site and friend of Froch said that Carl is getting too big for his boots and is surrounded by yes men.

None of his 129 fans would get to see him. The guy has a personality of a plain white wall, with a brain that just about carry around a 13st ego (because his mummy didn't like him very much), a couple of expletives (to be 'cool') and a major bout of fat girl jealousy over Joe Calzaghe.

IF the Hopkins Taylor turns up he will wrap Froch's butt in a British flag and hand it to him.

Calzaghe-Lacy they showed early morning, 3am I think.

The idea that Froch wants as much money as Calzage got for his bout with B-Hop is ridiculous. He has no way near the appeal or the power to pull the same amount of gate.

If Setanta don't pick up this fight and don't give a bloody good reason for it then I won't be re-subscribing when I get back to England next week.

I might have even paid to watch this on SBO as it is one of the fights of the year IMO and way better than paying for any of Khan's bull**** fights, although it is only a week apart from Hatton-Pacman so is understandable.
