By dickens you youngsters are a bunch of soft SOBs. Back in my day we trained out the back of a slaughter house with the smell of slaughtered pigs and horse****, and you think your gloves stink. Well I have news for you son, that smell of well used leather gloves is a smell all good fighters get to love. You listening? thats right LOVE, I love that smell, that is one thing about boxing I miss, now Im a old man can hardly walk (even harder now that some reckneck prick called Horus-Ra stole my stroller). Thats a smell thats addictive, like *****, hell ***** stinks sometimes. And no ***** stunk like my old wife´s, but I loved it, hear me LOVED it. Even now I love the smell of her *****, and she passed away 3 years ago!
The young generation, bunch of soft sap hooly doollies. All talk of your gel gloves to protect your precious knuckles, and some new generation fangle dangle Jordan boots, last time I check he was a god damn basketball player! Bought time you youngsters did some hard work and went without your gadgets such as ipods, cel phones, hair gel and television-remote-controls.
And yeah, do push ups on your pinky finger, it´ll make you tough.

see if theres an "esporta" in ur city, they're a company that cleans hockey equipment but they also clean other stuff (baseball gloves, shoes, etc). i've never had my boxing gloves cleaned there but they've been doing my hockey equipment for the past 4-5 years.

if u can't find an esporta then go to a sports store, in the hockey section they should have this deodorant spray (can't member the name) which works pretty well.

a temporary solution is to run em in the dryer with a couple of bounce sheets on the air setting (no heat). i imagine it'd screw up the padding though so i don't recommend it

If I made you close your eyes and then held my gym bag with gloves and wraps in it, you would guess that I was holding a bag of garbage.

its just that smell of wet trash

Spray the insides with a 50/50 mixture of water and alchol (rubbing alchohol, not whiskey) after using them each night.

Or get a pair of socks and fill them up with cedar wood chips get them from a pet store for cheap, it's the stuff you would put in the bottom of a hamster cage. Put them inside the gloves each night, they will absorb water/sweat and make them smell.

Most important thing is to not leave them in a locker/gym bag overnight. Take them out so they can air out.

I've got two pairs of gloves (sparring and bag) that I use five or six days per week and they don't smell at all. All I do is take them out of my bag each night and let them air out and dry. Same with my headgear and boots.

Anyway, just like what the statement above says, air it out, and before you do any type of boxing workout, wash your hands beforehand! No need for no bar of soaps, rubbing alcohol, what have you. Wash your hands before use and air it out after a workout. It's that easy!

A simple wipe down of the inner part of the glove w/ a dry cloth or paper towel can't hurt either.

For those people that have the odor issue w/ their gloves. I'm also thinking that, maybe these are people who have sweaty palms to begin with. But I think hygiene is a huge part of it.

Believe me man it aint no hygiene issue I'm the cleanest mofo you could ever meet. I think its cos I usually just stick them in my bag when I'm done. Maybe that or you aint workin hard enough to sweat properly beatch...only joking.
