I suppose that Liverpool's fault as well? Just out of interest, how did the ban affect Forest? Everton OK but you weren't in Europe in the mid eighties unless I'm mistaken? As for your Derby comment, I couldn't care less about Forest as I have no reason to think of them. MickyHatton 03-22-2009, 07:32 PM Anyone want a bet.. Man United Finish Above Liverpool in the premier league? My 300k v 200k? Tubes, Its still yours to lose mate, I have never said any different however Liverpool were wrote off just over a week ago and were supposed to lose at Old Trafford and go 10 points behind plus be a world away on goal difference. We were also supposed to be dumped out of the CL by a supreme Real Madrid. Since then we have trounced Madrid and Villa and also United on their turf and pulled the points back to 1 and overturned the goal difference. We were supposed to be boring yet we have scored more goals than any other side in the Premier League this season so far. Thus you can understand the change in mindset mate. United are a great side and they will come back and will still probably win this league however I love my club therefore I'll take your bet mate. kayjay 03-22-2009, 07:40 PM Cheers, Mickey. Fortunately today's game was on TV here. It was beautiful. What do you think about drawing Chelsea? Tbh. it bothered me a bit. Although I still consider Barca the top team in the world, Liverpool would match up better against them than against Chelsea (esp. with the quality of left-sided counterattacking these past few weeks, which plays right into one of Barca's several glaring weaknesses). Chelsea I consider a 50/50 proposition. They are not playing as well as Liverpool, but they're dangerous. Also, how do you feel about the Barry talk? I don't much like it. I respect Barry, but I consider him noticeably substandard for Liverpool's current team, and he wouldn't be worth the cash. Robbie Keane was a much better buy than would be Barry, and even Keane didn't work out. siablo14 03-22-2009, 08:01 PM down with Man U. Addition 03-22-2009, 08:41 PM Utd should count themselves lucky that Liverpool have played their best football this season just before the international break. Liverpool have impressed me with their football, it was actually good watch them utterly destroy Villa and showed no mercy. MickyHatton 03-23-2009, 05:55 AM Cheers, Mickey. If I'm honest Chelsea do worry me mate as they are a very well organised dangerous side and the tie is starting to become boring due to repetitious nature of it. However the odds of getting the supposed two 'weaker' teams i.e. Valencia and Porto was slim therefore on reflection having beaten Chelsea twice already this season it was as good as we could have expected I suppose. As for Barca, obviously they are a gifted side but play the kind of football that suits Liverpool. We are organised and strong but with a core element of flair in Gerrard and Torres which makes us difficult hence the change in the side now we have them both fit. I like Barry but where would he fit in? Would he take Alonso's role? Alonso is now too good to be replaced IMO but we do need an overall better squad therefore players of Barry's ilk would be welcome. I believe we need another winger (Lennon), another midfield play maker (Barry?) and another top striker, word is that Rafa has around 45m to spend and that he will target David Villa however I don't believe we will get him so.... Great win for Man Yooooooo yesterday. Can't believe Man City beat us2-1 MickyHatton 04-27-2009, 05:12 AM Say what you want about Liverpool but don't ignore the facts. We have scored the most goals and have the best goal difference in the league. We have lost only twice and but for a few stupid draws would be looking at winning this title. As it is United will win and I have no complaints about that but for a team that have in the past been labelled 'boring' and have missed their first choice striker for over half of the season, the team is looking far better. Liverpool's best ever points total in the Premier League I believe is 80 when we finished 2nd to Arsenal, we are well on course for beating that so.... Savino 04-27-2009, 10:59 AM Say what you want about Liverpool but don't ignore the facts. We have scored the most goals and have the best goal difference in the league. We have lost only twice and but for a few stupid draws would be looking at winning this title. Rafa is starting to build a good squad but still believe next year you will draw to many games not to win the legue. Joe2608 04-27-2009, 12:30 PM Liverpool have a good chance now their only focus is on the League and not the Champions League now. However UTD are now 3 points ahead with a game in hand so their only hope really is that UTD slip up against Arsenal or something. Man U have Boro to play away, Man City and Arsenal so can see them droppin points in one of those games. Liverpool have a fantastic chance, never been at this stage in the prem were they are still in with a chance and only focus is league. JmtRyan 04-28-2009, 10:22 AM If im right in thinking, the only games we have lost this season in the prem, have all been 12.45 kick offs? Middelsborough always seem to give us trouble, but we'll be way to strong for them on this occassion. Maringlen 04-28-2009, 08:24 PM Liverpool has to straighten out their defense, they ate 7 goals from chelsea in 2 games, and 4 against arsenal. carragher should retire and make room for a skrtel & agger partnership. liverpool needs a quality striker, and left winger, and a RB in case arbeloa gets ****ed up. the team is shaping up nicely, yossi is stepping it up, and so is kuyt. gerrard and torres are on a league of their own, mascherano and alonso supply the ammunition, all liverpool needs is to straighten out their defense because offensively, they have improved a lot. oh and get barry FFS, lucas is utter ****ing ****, when he's on the field, liverpool is playing with 10 players. tmwhtkr 04-29-2009, 01:17 AM As much as I hate Liverpool, being an Everton fan and all, I hope they win over manlovers utd. And yeah you all caught the match where man u lost to everton right? :) MickyHatton 05-01-2009, 05:41 AM Liverpool has to straighten out their defense, they ate 7 goals from chelsea in 2 games, and 4 against arsenal. carragher should retire and make room for a skrtel & agger partnership. liverpool needs a quality striker, and left winger, and a RB in case arbeloa gets ****ed up. the team is shaping up nicely, yossi is stepping it up, and so is kuyt. gerrard and torres are on a league of their own, mascherano and alonso supply the ammunition, all liverpool needs is to straighten out their defense because offensively, they have improved a lot. oh and get barry FFS, lucas is utter ****ing ****, when he's on the field, liverpool is playing with 10 players. What??? The reason we have shipped more goals is simple, we have been trying to win every game to stay on United heels, we still have a great defensive record. Top six. United have conceded 23. Liverpool have conceded 26 Chelsea have conceded 20 Arsenal have conceded 37 Villa have conceded 44 Everton have conceded 36 Please explain how that equates to us having a poor defence? Also Carragher has been once again immense! Maringlen 05-01-2009, 12:06 PM What??? Also Carragher has been once again immense! Carragher lost out every duel to Drogba. He doesn't have the legs to be world class anymore. Also, I have witnessed on many occasions to us conceding because of set pieces, and we all know Carragher does not provide a whole lot in aerial ability. Drogba is a world class powerful forward and has always given Carragher trouble. The set peices issue is more down to the zonal marking rather than Carraghers lack of aeriel ability. I have been to 70% of all our home games this season and can tell you that he has looked awesome. |
