Got this note here that says any physical contact at this point could be "medically disasterous" to my health and physical well being.

The doctors cannot explain, with any other explanation than "potential neurological trauma from repeated blows to the head", why I've recently had collapsing spells. On a few occasions recently, I've lost consciousness completely & sporatically... one time, at work... real bad. Left on a ****in stretcher that day.

Martin's got two fights coming up, so I'm going to train him and stay sharp on my game... but as far as competition goes, my doctor isn't clearing me to fight for now. I have an MRI appointment pending, we're awaiting the results of that. I'll be honest here... I'm kinda scared.

... and this **** about repeated blows to the head... wtf! No ****in way! I'm one of the sharpest cats I know! I haven't taken a quality blow to the head in months, and even when I did, I didn't even go out! Frustration at it's finest.

Mixed feelings on it. Not sure I'd be able to train up to aptitude with all the **** I've got goin on now anyway, but now this. I bet I can still at least do Jiu Jitsu.

I'm really not too sure about doctors and their opinions anymore.

For the last year and a half i had gall attacks, pretty much every 2 weeks. I'm a typical stubborn guy who hates hospitals and doctors so i never got it looked into for the first year or a little over a year. Most people have an attack and get checked out right away and get their gall bladder out or whatever...

Anyhow, My gf pretty much dragged me to a doctor, who gave me my checkup and told me i was suffering from Acid Reflux. Somehow i didnt believe him, but went with it. I took prilosec for a month and i actually didnt get a gall attack for that month. Finally it returned about a week later and i had the worst attack ever, most miserable thing i ever felt.

GF dragged me to the hospital after 8 hours of an attack and it only getting worse. I got the works. Checkup/Physical exam, Chest X-Rays, EKG, Ultrasound, Bloodwork. What does my trusty doctor tell me? "You have acid reflux. I'm making you a drink of some 'special' stuff. you will feel better in 15-30 minutes and be on your way."

As this doctor leaves, a surgeon walks in and says in these exact words, "I have no idea what this guy is thinkin, but you need your gall bladder out. he's got no idea what hes doing, i saw your ultrasounds. Go ahead and drink that cup of crap hes gonna give ya. when you dont feel better, i'll be back to talk to you."

This woulda been twice i was sent on my way for something not even wrong with me.

Moral of my story, apart from Gall Attacks sucking the big one, I'd go see another doctor, get more than one opinion, if at all possible. They are schooled in this stuff but they are human too, they canmake mistakes and overlook stuff. (sorry if this was boring lol)

It call comes down to experience. I have had two misdiagnosed broken bones. Both times I went to the walk in clinic to get x-rays, both times I was told I was broken. Both times I went and saw my family doctor a week later and was told neither one was broken.

damn dave. hope it all works out. just try to keep your head up and keep a good attitude. if you can't do fight training... then stick with jiu-jitsu and weight lifting. hey, atleast you got jiu-jitsu. i can't do **** bro. i can't do nothing but upper body workouts.... i was told no jiu-jitsu, no footwork (which cans any thoughts of boxing/muay tai or any kind of stand up fighting), and no wrestling. that basically stops me from doing everything, except for lifting weights, but only upper body.

it sucks, life's not fair, but GOD's got a plan and everything happens for a reason. i'll comeback stronger and harder.

Hey Dave,

Been thinking about you on that. Take it one day at a time and pray for the best, prepare for the worst. Like DOGG said, God has a plan.

Also, you could have taken a blow to the head that didn't affect you immediately. Look at my son. The doctor's think that it came from a head injury he had at four. I knew it, but I had to find a doctor who believed that him/herself, then I found two. Too late in some ways for him now, but he's doing better on most days. Most of his syptoms didn't show up right away, but I knew after the accident.....but mother's usually do know their kids the best.

You'll be okay. I believe that. You're strong, you're brave, you'll survive whatever life throws at you and you will come out on top.

:)
