Byrd would get beat up all night and lose by decision, at best. Rocky would probably knock him out in the later rounds, right after Chris sticks out his tongue at the Rock and says WOOOOOO!

I think Byrd gets knocked down at least once in this matchup but still takes a majority decision.

Oh God this thread had me cracking up before I even opened it. Byrd shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breathe as Vitali Klitchsko today nevermind comparing him to any of the all time greats of the heavyweight division.

This is gonna piss people off. i think Byrd out points the Rock. He is bigger and faster at the same time! Byrd`s style is wrong for Rocky, he`s just run away and pit pat jab all night.

Ike was fast and slick and still powerful. Rocky was slow and clumsy. He had power but i think Byrd can take a goodut box Rocky, shot and defentley outbox rocky. a 3rd round KO over him, I don`t think Rocky would get a 3rd round KO. And Byrd is bigger than Rocky too

I trust Marciano to be able to tire Byrd during the fight, finishing him by a late knock out. Byrd would probably control the fight for the first five-six rounds or so, but Marciano would keep on coming for the whole fight.. I can´t see him losing this one!

Byrd is too much of a slick boxer for Marciano. He outboxes him for 15 rounds (if not a late round stopage) while literally embarrassing at the same time. Rocky was too small (at 185 he gives up at least 30 pounds) and too slow to compette with Byrd.

I guess we can't expect everybody to have ever SEEN an older champ like Marciano actually fight. Rocky wouldn't take too many shots on his chin though. He fought from a crouch and used head movement as he worked his way inside. Byrd's punches would hit, but not as clean as the Suzy Q, which will drop Byrd like a lead weight.

lets see byrd faces tua both klitchkos and tons of other 230 pound plus heavyweights and was only stopped once by ike ibeabuchi but you put him against a slower smaller weaker guy like marciano and you think the rock could knock him out ?funny stuff..and its no way in hell he could out box byrd because he as slick as they come...so i see byrd by late stoppage either on cuts or just to much punishment

I've gotta agree, Marciano could take Byrd shots on the chin easily enough but why bother when his head movements so good. I cant think of anyone else who avoided punches so much from close range!!

as far as i know, marciano and henry armstrong have the same style -- pure slugfest. i've seen some armstrong fights and i can tell you that guy just wore his opponents out. i guess, since HA and RM do have comparable styles, marciano would most probably do what armstrong did.
