1st- I would like to congratulate Yves Edwards for a tough fight, sorry that I forgot to do so on Friday after the announcement.
2nd- Sorry to the UFC and Zuffa. I did not go to the press meeting, I was sad and disappointed.

3rd- I would like to talk about the fight. I fought with the rule, takedowns, kicks, trying submissions, pushing the action. So I would like a synopsis to understand why I lost! I understand that when you leave the fights to the judges the result is out of your hands, and is not either athlete fault at that point. But help me understand.

I do not want to think that I lost because I did not walk in the ring with a mask, dancing, or a cowboy hat. My style is clean, I honor my gi and my team. However, if this is part of getting the win I will do some dancing or other gimmick. If anyone thinks that my fight was boring, sorry I'm always looking to push the action and I will push harder next time.

4th and last- I'm not here to say ***** and complain about my fight. I here to say to my fans that I'm sorry for letting them down.

I lost this battle, but not the War! I will be back better and stronger for my fans and my team!

Thanks to all of those that gave me support. I hope to fight soon I do not care where. I love to fight, I'm a fighter, and this is why I was born.

Thanks again to my coaches Marcelo Silveira, Conan, Ricardo Liborio, all the guys at American Top Team and all the fans of the sport.

With all my heart,

Hermes Franca MMA record 10-0-0

***Just kidding Josh and Yves****

He does rule. He is 10-0-0. The blemishes on his record come purely from ****ty judges. Worst ****ing judging ever.

You're support is always here! Thanks for stopping in and saying high to your fans! Win or lose, judges call or not, you are a top lightweight contender that is destined for a great future! I personally thought it was a close fight, shoulda been a decision, if a win had to be put in place... I woulda gave it to you. You pressed the action consistantly. You're like a 155lb ball of energy!! Thanks for the fight! Fighters like you are the ones that are bringing the lightweight division back to the top!

Judges suck, but what can ya do? Keep up the good work and training hard! You're going str8 to the top!

lmao@Carlao being a fat, lazy puertorican!

I've actually seen alot worse judging then that. Hermes/ Yves was to close to call. Like he said himself, you do not want to leave it to the judges. Could have easily gone either way. I really need to watch it again.

Hermes is a class act. He doesn't need a cowboy hat or mask to be one of the top LW's around. He's an exciting fighter and I love his in ring personality, it speaks for itself, as he comes across as having fun and loving what he does. Look forward to seeing him again soon.

I think Josh and Yves should fight for the title. Hermes should fight someone else for the first shot at the title.

ps.- I wish I could train with ATT.

Whenever I see Edwards wearing that hat I think of Blazing Saddles.

If you want to win KO or submit your opponent. Don't try for feeble takedowns that end with you pulling guard or being reversed. Passing the guard would also be nice to see. As for subs attempts I saw 2 from Franca and one from Edwards. Edwards controlled the tempo of that fight, he outstruck and an arguement could be made that he outgrappled Franca with the reversals and such. Its hard to give a winner in such a disappointing fight but within the UFC judging criteria Edwards got the win he deserved. If you want to be rewarded for attempting to finish a fight go to Pride, until then learn to control the action. In the UFC this means being on top. We all know being on top isn't always being in control but in the UFC's eyes it always has so spending the whole fight on the bottom = being dominated in their books. That's why Franca didn't win.

I was starting to think I was watching the wrong fight. You Mr. HockeyFighter are correct.

As much as we love to hate each other I've agreed with just about every statment you've made in regards to UFC 47. Regarding this and about every other fight. This post is particularly good. In my opinion it's a journalistic quality post. You should write it in a more broken down style and have Curly post it as an article. Great insight on this and the other fights.

I do think you thought that Tito fought a stupid fight, which I wholeheartedly agree with, I just don't think he would've been able to take Chuck down and keep him down period.

the judges are appointed by the NSAC, not the UFC. who knows how qualified and knowledgable some of these judges even are?

after saying that, i still think yves won round 1 and 3. even if most people don't agree, the decision could have gone either way. neither one really had a round they totally dominated, if anything is argued its who got the edge. the fight was so close fans on either side would say it was a bad decision.
