I don't button mash, I just don't like pushing on an analog stick and it doesn't do what my boxer does what I want it to do. Like I want my boxer to throw a jab, it throws a hook instead. Analog controls are retarded

I admit I'm not that good using the analog but if thats the only you can play FNR4 you best believe I'm going to learn! I've always kicked ass using the buttons but nothing I mean nothing is going to keep me away from this game.

I never really got down on the analog stick controls. I always told myself I would learn the analog stick to perfection but never did. It always seemed like it would be better once you got the hang of it. I always used the buttons but I don't really care if they switch over to just analog. It would force me to learn to use the analog stick effectively to punch.

You just have to relearn the game which is easy enough in career mode when you have to spend all that tedious effort in training and all that bull****. It seems like it would be nice if they had both options though. I can't imagine that it would be that difficult of a feature to add especially since they had the option in every other FN game.

Is the concern that people will button mash and have an advantage over people on the internet? If so, why not just disable button control for internet playing if it's that big of a frickin deal? However, I always thought myself pretty good at using the buttons and I fought a guy who was really good at the analog sticks and he kicked my ass so I don't really think that makes much difference. Also, what's the difference between button mashing and analog mashing? You can go psycho with the analog stick as well and throw a bunch of punches so what's the difference? The bottom line is whoever is better will win. If you don't want to sign the petition then don't. No sense in ****ting all over the guy because he prefers to use buttons though.

FWIW, I'm not signing the petition because I don't feel like it. I don't even have a PS3 or XBox yet. I will eventually and when I do, if they have the button option, I will likely use that but if they don't, I will still buy the game and be forced into analog button submission.:lol1:

the petition website sucks anyways, the petition won't be forwarded to the fight round 4 creators anyways. I should have used a better petition website, oh well... What's the difference between button mashing and analog mashing? When I used to use the buttons I always threw specific combinations and didn't mash. What would stop someone from flailing the analog stick around throwing a bunch of ****? Hence, mashing the analog stick?

The whole game is built on throwing specific punches at the right time.....LIKE IN BOXING!!

I agree with this post. You can't just button mash your way to a win. You have to throw combinations and block, dodge, duck, parry and slip the punches thrown by an opponent.

Like I said, I got my ****in ass kicked by a guy who was really good on the sticks so I don't think that matters.

I don't get Fight Night Round 4, they say parries are gone, but every fight can end with just one punch.

Do you still charge the stick to land a one punch KO, or is it catching a player that puts them into survival mode?

Will it take more to knock a fighter out, or would that stay the same, I dont understand.

Funny thread, me and one of my friend are both pretty damn good at Fight night round 3, i always beat him but most of the time he gives me a good fight. I never really paid attention to how he was playing, i thought he was using the analog stick as it gives much better controls, it's harder to master, but i just couldnt go back to using buttons to punch.

A couple of weeks ago i caught him mashing the buttons while i was playing him.

I said "Why are you using the buttons you *****?"

He says "I have always used the buttons."

Me "What?!? you talked all that **** for the couple of years we have been playing this game and it turns out you play the game like a *****? I thought you were pretty good."

He " I am good, i have beaten you a few times."

Me " Dude, you're just a button masher, it's like you are playing the game on easy, and i still destroy you every time."

He " Dude **** off, i'll play the game like i want."

Me "Yeah, and you'll still be a *****."

And i knocked him down for like the 8th time in 5 rounds, he couldn't get back up.

Everybody but me and him was laughing. Funny thing is i was really disapointed that he had been button mashing all those times we played.
