Testdead 03-13-2009, 04:42 PM Hatton vs Mayweather And Calzaghe vs Hopkins the worst case of i told you so biased ever in a boxing official? lyrical 03-13-2009, 05:08 PM get out of here, Mayweather got the better of the inside exchanges anyway, if the ref had let them go at it in close it would have been over even quicker, get over it Rocky=Ward 03-13-2009, 05:22 PM yeah it was pretty biased... mayweather got a way with so many headbutts and elbows and holding, it wasn't even funny. Freedom. 03-13-2009, 06:59 PM I agree. But what made me the most angry I've ever been about a boxing match, was what he did to Humberto Soto in Soto-Lorenzo I. :ugh: I've never seen Lampley and Steward more angry than they were after that fight. After the fight, I sent an e-mail to Joe Cortez, telling him he's a disgrace and should retire. The Weebler II 03-13-2009, 07:12 PM Very biased in the Mayweather fight, I think Floyd was even surprised at the advantages he was getting from Cortez. Then to turn around and ref the Calzaghe/Hopkin fight completely the opposite way was an insult to boxing fans. beecherhq 03-13-2009, 07:17 PM I agree. He used to be a great referee but should now retire. Patty Tanager 03-13-2009, 08:16 PM The thing is, Cortez actually thinks he'sna big shot. He's got his own website, www.imfairbutimfair.com. Sick/ 03-13-2009, 08:28 PM The thing is, Cortez actually thinks he'sna big shot. He's got his own website, www.imfairbutimfair.com. Very fair but very very fair..... BG_Knocc_Out 03-13-2009, 10:12 PM How hard is it to ref? jayblack 03-13-2009, 10:17 PM There are truly some die hard hatton fans on this board. I'm sick of hearing people say, and Hatton cry about the ref in the fight. Yes, in the recent years Cortez has had some questionable fights that he ref'd, but this wasn't one of them. Mayweather got away with using his foreatm to create space a few times, but that was it. Hatton gets away with wrestling throughout most of his fights. The way the fight was ref'd when he beat Kostya was horribly in his favor. Yet Kostya took his loss like a man and didn't complain. I do believe Hatton is a great fighter, but he is not on Mayweathers level, and the ref didn't play a part in that fight. ellwise69 03-14-2009, 08:10 AM There are truly some die hard hatton fans on this board. Watch Hatton v Mayweather then Calzaghe v Hopkins. Disgraceful refereeing without question. He should definately retire. Memeori 03-14-2009, 12:10 PM There is a couple of videos on youtube showing illegal moves by Floyd Mayweather and they are apparent such as using elbows and ducking below the belt. Non the less Hatton would of lost if they had a competant ref because it wasn't his night. Brian13 03-15-2009, 08:33 AM I hope Kenny Bayless refs the Hatton -V- Pac man fight 915 04-24-2009, 09:52 PM I hope Kenny Bayless refs the Hatton -V- Pac man fight Yeah Bayless is an awesome ref PlasticFlamingo 04-24-2009, 10:52 PM Mayweather won two years ago, its time to get over it. PlasticFlamingo 04-24-2009, 10:54 PM No one's crying about the Hatton loss son. Just highlighting Cortez's bias. Watch Hatton v Mayweather then Calzaghe v Hopkins. Disgraceful refereeing without question. He should definately retire. How can you talk about bias and have a Khan vs. Barrera signature? That is one of the best examples of ****ty "refereeing" in recent memory. Zmlacksz 04-25-2009, 12:30 PM Cortez kept Hopkins in the Calzaghe fight, with a netrual ref Hoppo would have been deducted points or dropped of exhaustion. Brian13 04-25-2009, 08:42 PM Yeah Bayless is an awesome ref And great news he has been appointed to ref the fight. BmoreBrawler 04-25-2009, 11:58 PM A terrible ref. If I was a promoter I would throw him on his ass. |
