Raging Bull (1980)is the best boxing movie I've seen
The Great White Hype (1996) is the funniest boxing movie

Rocky movies in order:

Rocky (1976)
Rocky II (1979)
Rocky III (1982)
Rocky V (1990)
Rocky IV (1985) - this movie is a disaster

A couple more worth watching:

The Milky Way (1936) - Harold Lloyd talkie
The Prize Fighter (1979) - silly with Conway & Knotts

Movies with memorable boxing scenes:

Popeye (1980)
City Lights (1931)
Sgt. Bilko (1996)

Everytime this post comes back in different form, too many people leave out Diggstown. The storyline is absolute gold if you can get past some of the "average" fight choreography.

How can you say Rocky IV was a distaster? So your saying a fight in the street was better than watching a fight in Russia against a huge Russian? :D I thought it was a cool movie accept the punches clearly didn't hit(they didn't even try to make it look like they did), and it sounded like a machine gun every punch that hit.

Both the last 2 Rocky's were bad - but IV, with its "Home Robot" and other assorted 80s oddities against the backdrop of Cold War propaganda.... come on, Tommy Gunn was better.

That speech Rocky gives the Russian fans at the end of IV is among the worst I have ever seen in a movie..."If I can change, then you can change...." Puke.

Haha, ok you make some decent points. In that case, I have no favorite. Oh wait, Tyson vs Holyfield was a great movie! Loved the prosthetic ear Tyson chewed off for all you gore hounds :D

I like Rocky the best. Also, I almost hate to admit "Gladiator" with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and some white boy wasn't that bad.

hey what about ali??????u guys didnt like it much?

i thought ali was horrible. Seemed like a Saturday Night Live skit with everyone doing impressions. Also thought the direction of the movie was hard to watch. Not very well made.

It would have been better if Carlton Banks played Bundini :D
