1.) Now I Lay 9/10-------------Dope as ****.
2.) The Future 8.5/10------------I'm feelin it.
3.) I Gotta Go 8.5/10------------This is ill

**what I'm thinking at this point of the album**

wow this is one of the best albums I've heard in a while, don't know why people were hating on it?

4.) Don't Make It 8/10-----I like the verses and beat alot, just not the chorus.
5.) Blood on the wall 9/10---this goes hard, dope.
6.) In My Sleep 9/10-----lyrically sick, Budden is going crazy

**what i'm thinking now**

I'm loving this album right, I think its one of the better albums I've heard in the last 15 months....

7.) Exxxes 7.5/10----not feeling this one. its lyrically tight and Budden's flow is nice.....but i just don't like the song for some reason.
8.) I Couldn't Help It 7/10.....boring to me. its not that Budden is bad, hes trying....but to me its just a boring song. But this is all subjective.
9.) Adrenaline 7.5---I don't like the beat or the chorus.
10.) Happy Holidays 7.5---I hate the chorus. But I give it a 7.5 because of Budden's verses. I like his verses and the beat isn't too bad. But I can't give it an 8, 9 or 10 because that chorus. To me that chorus really hurts the song.

**What I'm thinking now**

To be honest the last 4 songs I havn't really liked, I'll be interested to see how this ends.....I'm starting to feel dissapointed now.

11.) Do Tell 8.5/10-----This is nice. This is better. I like this one.
12.) Angel In My Life 9/10-----ILLLLL. This Joe Budden right here....
13.) Pray For Me 9.5/10---sick concept, sick lyrics, sick beat. what a great way to end the album.

In the end your looking at 9 dope songs, 4 mediocre to weak ones. That not a bad ratio. Theres definitley more bright spots on this album than dark ones. Overall I'm very happy with this sophmore effort by Joe Budden, its a very good album. Joe Budden is a great lyricist and is becoming a great artist. I expect his third album to be even better than this.

Overall ranking: :bling::bling::bling::bling:out of 5

Thats about what I gave it...4/5 = 8/10

I loved the song I couldnt help it, I thought the story he told on that was crazy but overall Prodigy used that sample better on diamonds.

I wasnt really feeling future...and I thought Do Tell was just as good as any other song on the Cd. Its funny how two people can rate it almost the same, but have a couple of songs that they did and didnt like. I agree on the last 2 though, Angel and Pray for me are both very impressive.

My only complaint about this cd is that Joe Budden is capable of more. Hes fully capable of dropping a classic. Definitely a respectable review from the Truth...

I just upped "do tell" to 8.5/10 on second listen.

The thing is, that a was first listen review......I bet if I reviewed it again, my song ratings would be different.

i changed my rating twice so far...I gave it a 4/5....then a 3.5/5, and now a 4/5 again. His beat selection could have been better but hes got some very good songs on here so I think im gonna stay with the 4/5

I thought the production could have been a lot better. In a way it took away from the album. I couldn't listen to it the all through. I had to listen to it in parts. That's the biggest weakness. His lyrics will always be on point. But the production hurts it for me.

heres what i think........rappers like Cam and Joe Budden are great rappers, so they will always be dope no matter what beats they get within reason of course....

however,

it helps to be on a major.....Killa Season is a very good album, I love it...but it doesn't have the production of Purple Haze.

When your on a major, it seems you get better beats...

And they did the Family Reunion beat over. The original was a lot better. MM3 was better.

I partially agree...i thought the production on Killa Season was real good, but not as good as Purple Haze. There wasnt a very big dropoff at all in my opinion. Even on Public Enemy, Cam managed to get some good beats. I dont know how he does it but hes got them good connects...

Cam still gets nice beats.......but Purple Haze was exceptional. But your right he still gets nice beats. Plus Rocafella isn't coming with those great soul beats anymore, anyway....

Thanks for the review Truth... you encouraged me to grab the album also. I'm surprised how much you're not feelin' "Exxxes"... I thought it was pretty good, and a decent pick for a single.

Thanks again,

now, ive went back and listened to the album three more times and exxxes is ****ing crazy.... excellent concept, budden is lyrically at his very best. it might have went over some people's heads or whatever, so go listen again.

^It's probably the best track on the album aside from Blood On The Wall & Pray For Me but it's not enough to save this album from the dissapointment it is. Production is awful...

yeah, the beat selection is horrible. buddens can spit though, lyrically he is one of the best out right now.
