Fvck big 5! Idk, I've never tryed any Grants gloves. They sound cooler than Everlast though. :D bbos 03-07-2009, 03:41 AM why 12s, why not 16s or 20s? BOLLOCKS 03-07-2009, 05:04 AM why 12s, why not 16s or 20s? Because I want to fight with them too, and fighting with huge ass gloves is gay. :D Pork Chop 03-08-2009, 11:09 PM wow, your chin goes straight, up in the air every time you throw. .WaRCoTTo. 03-08-2009, 11:20 PM wow, your chin goes straight, up in the air every time you throw. Yes it is!.. Tuck that **** in especially when you flurry..or somebody who can slip will test that ****.. Gift of Gab 03-08-2009, 11:23 PM That bag is too low, IMO. BOLLOCKS 03-08-2009, 11:25 PM Yes it is!.. Tuck that **** in especially when you flurry..or somebody who can slip will test that ****.. I do like Cotto's style. :D them_apples 03-08-2009, 11:34 PM Because I want to fight with them too, and fighting with huge ass gloves is gay. :D you must mean fighting with your buddies, because you won't be able to spar with 12's. Sparring with heavier gloves will give you better speed and endurance when you actually go into a fight. You bought the ****ty everlasts, everlast does sell a pro series of gloves however, they cost much more though. I don't know what the hell you are trying to do with those little arm flurries, no power behind those at all. BOLLOCKS 03-08-2009, 11:36 PM you must mean fighting with your buddies, because you won't be able to spar with 12's. Sparring with heavier gloves will give you better speed and endurance when you actually go into a fight. You bought the ****ty everlasts, everlast does sell a pro series of gloves however, they cost much more though. Yeah, I know why they use huge gloves, and yeah I was talking about fighting with some mates. :D selk 03-08-2009, 11:38 PM i sparr and bag with same gloves 14oz :D BOLLOCKS 03-08-2009, 11:40 PM i sparr and bag with same gloves 14oz :D I'd spark you out. :boxing: :D austinlarg 03-09-2009, 02:50 AM First off you need to keep your chin tucked and your elbows in. When you jab you're leaving your ribs wide open because you're lifting your left arm up and then pushing the punch out. It should be one motion and your elbow should go right back by your ribs. kryo 03-09-2009, 06:42 AM TPS has a new challenger. Steak 03-10-2009, 12:44 AM Because I want to fight with them too, and fighting with huge ass gloves is gay. :D yea ok, me and my friends get hurt enough with 16 or 18 oz gloves on. I couldnt imagine having fun sparring with a friend if I had only 12s on, we would actually be beating each other up. besides, I murder my fists with 16s as it is on the heavybag. That heavybag is really low down. Mine used to be like that, and the stand would start rocking all over the place because there was little padding at the top of it. I kind of took the chain and looped it around the top but still attatched it to the ring so it wouldnt slip off the back...kind of hard to explain, but surprisingly worked out pretty well, and the top of the stand doesnt have scratches either because I put some old shorts up there to cushion it. Landon S 03-10-2009, 12:44 PM Do yourself a favor and dont do those little "flurries" of straight punches, your form goes to **** (its not that good to begin with) and your windmilling your punches. Tighten up your straight punches....then learn the other ones. Do you go to a gym? if not you definately should so they can help you with form, Im not even that great at countering but Id have a clinic on you. Zhaakal 03-10-2009, 01:47 PM Practise more. Super Zab Judah 03-10-2009, 02:11 PM Next pacman. Mrpedigree 03-10-2009, 02:19 PM I'd spark you out. :boxing: :DMy dear son you aint knocking any c*nt out if how you hit that bag is anything to go by:omfg: bbos 03-10-2009, 06:53 PM dont spar with 12 oz, wtf are you trying to hurt your friends? CMaines 03-10-2009, 07:24 PM wow, your chin goes straight, up in the air every time you throw. Alright, I'll try to be more like Cotto. :D Something that I do to practice keeping my chin down while working the bag is I'll try and hold a tennis ball under my chin. That way if you drop the ball you know your chin is too high. looks like you have some good speed to, but then again they are 12oz gloves. Practice more. selk 03-10-2009, 07:28 PM My dear son you aint knocking any c*nt out if how you hit that bag is anything to go by:omfg: and i see that soft little chin little always exposed. haha Zhaakal 03-11-2009, 11:26 AM dont spar with 12 oz, wtf are you trying to hurt your friends? Why shouldn't you spar with 12 oz gloves? As long as you ain't a lot better than them and go all out Tyson on them then it is fine to use 12 oz gloves. Steak 03-11-2009, 11:44 AM Why shouldn't you spar with 12 oz gloves? As long as you ain't a lot better than them and go all out Tyson on them then it is fine to use 12 oz gloves. not in my experience. I think most of the friends I spar with are about on my level, and friends end up bleeding from the mouth with 16s on from a jab. just the wrong angle and the momentum from the other guy and everything, you know, but it happens sometimes and it takes the fun out of sparring for some people. selk 03-11-2009, 12:54 PM and don't sparr with stranger it can turn into a real fight that happen to me couple of times now... lol big paulie 03-11-2009, 06:22 PM Why shouldn't you spar with 12 oz gloves? As long as you ain't a lot better than them and go all out Tyson on them then it is fine to use 12 oz gloves. I agree, if you weigh under 160 and got tiny ****ing hands like i have theres nothing wrong with it, just as long as you relax and take it easy on the power. 14oz are cool too, anyone over 175lbs should use 16-18oz, and anyone over 190lbs 18oz. Also depends on the gloves, 12oz Winning are like pillows and i'd struggle to do any serious damage in them wheras Everlast tend to be way harder supRa 12-16-2009, 03:12 AM boxingscenes finest!! BOLLOCKS 12-16-2009, 03:16 AM I guess, I should buy some 22oz gloves. :D Spit Dialect 12-16-2009, 10:04 AM Because I want to fight with them too, and fighting with huge ass gloves is gay. :D Fight as in spar? You train with 16oz gloves and spar with 16 oz gloves so you get a good workout and protect yourself and your opponent. Then in real fights, when you have 12-8oz gloves on, you feel like you have nothing on your hands. Sparing with 16oz gloves isn't gay and you can easily get KO'd by them. Safety is #1 priority. fdotorres 12-16-2009, 03:11 PM I guess, I should buy some 22oz gloves. :D don't worry, you don't punch hard BOLLOCKS 12-17-2009, 04:33 AM Fight as in spar?
