It's hard for Matt Lindland to understand. Be rated as the top fighter at 185 in the Fighters and Broadcasters poll, win your last match in impressive fashion over Niko Vitale and not get a fight?
"I don't get it. I never have. Phil Baroni and Lee Murray will get two or three consecutive fights before I get in there....whatever." In Lindland's ten wins, only three have gone to a decision; but whatever the reason, Lindland is not scheduled to be in the next two UFC's.
Lindland told MMAWeekly this weekend, "I have plenty of things to get off my chest, so I will do it on the radio." So with that said Matt Lindland will be today's featured guest on MMAWeekly Radio.
The show airs Monday through Friday at 9am Pacific/ 12 Noon Eastern which is FREE.

People just don't want to see him fight The UFC is listening to the fans on this one. Lindland just isn't as exciting as Muarry or Baroni.
Lindlands most exciting fights are the ones against Baroni and the ones where he lost (Bustamante, knocking himself out ect.)

It shoud be how many fights you win not how cool you look doing it (Jens Pulver) but slow boring fights won't help "sell the sport"

The UFC needs to make money, so why are they going to bring back fighters that don't sell tickets?

lindland is not exciting. he is one of the best, and i dont really mind watching him fight, but of course most that watch and are not dedicated to this sport.. want to see someone exciting, standing. lindland needs to change his game up and show the crowd that he can be exciting. its all about the paydays. if lindland isnt exciting and people dont wanna watch him, then the UFC wont make as much versus guys like Baroni, Murray, and others that hype the fights up.
hype + exciting fighter = mad ratings.

I agree. I think that if the sport goes in the direction of picking favorites any other way than by who the best fighter is it will deteriorate the sport and go in the direction of professional wrestling. I wanna see who the best fighter is period, sometimes what works isn't flashy but it's truth and that's what I wanna see.

I agree Gman, I think Matt should be making more than Baroni, unfortunately he's not.
