Watch from 4:50 onwards:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IH4GEcjJV68&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IH4GEcjJV68&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Should Gavilan be credited as the true originator of the shuffle instead of Ali? :)

Of course Ali's is still the best:

I'm pretty sure that Robinson did a version of this. Ali's footwork trickery was mostly in imitation of his idol, most notably in that graceful little footwork routine both would go through in the corner right before the beginning of fights to get into rhythm.
