yup.

tyson is a faster , harder hitting , two-handed version of frazier.

add the fact that tyson has a better chin and 20 lbs. bigger......

a fast starting tyson + a slow starting frazier = short , easy night for tyson

boss kads, who wins: prime tyson vs prime frazier and how?I'm leaning towards tyson due to the fact that only slick fgihters like holyfield have beaten him convincingly. I think ali could have beaten him too. On the other hand, frazier was beaten by foreman because he can be hit easily. I think the same thing would happen if he fights tyson and that's because of joe's devil may care attitude of "give me 3-5 of yours as long as I can give you oneof mine". Imagine joe going forward and tyson giving him those haymakers. Sabi nga ng mga boxing commentators sa mga laban ni tyson. Had that punch of tyson connect then this fight could have been over by now. Tangna maski hindi tumatama yung suntok ni tyson parang pati hangin natatakot ata.

I don't discount the probabilty of frazier winning cause that wicked left hook can also put tyson to the dream land but based on their styles in my opinion makes tyson the winner.

Awesome Kad...thanks much for posting that short bio of Joe. I saw the Thrilla in Manilla and it was just awesome to behold...what a fight. Big respects to Joe and his loved ones.Just found it from a paclander friend at FB, jaz. Tell you what, before the thrilla in manila, I was 4-5 younger when I heard about the fight of the century. It was highly advertised in our country during that time. So when the actual fight happened, I was on my way home from school, walking about 500 meters from school to a tricycle stand where I will get a ride to our home. During that 500 meters walk, I can hear from every house I pass through with a black and white television noises from the fight of the century. Once in a while I would peep through and see two big fighters exchanging blows atop the ring. I was fascinated with way the taller man was fighting. As young as I was I knew already that what he was doing was some scientific calculated moves to beat his opponent and there was graces in his movements. The shorter but bulkier was fighting like a raging bull, bobbing ang weaving forward with his right hand covering his left chin and delivering those killer left hooks. I continue walking and rode a tricycle and was finally home. At home the house was full with my father and his drinking buddies around, watching the fight.

I said the taller guy was the best in the world and no way in the world wiill the shorter win this fight...until the 14th or was it the 15th round when Smokin' joe frazier caught muhammad ali with that dreaded left hook to the jaw which sent ali sprawling in the canvass.

Some people watching it with my father that smokin' joe clearly won that fight by virtue of that knock down. And when the winner was announced by jimmy lennon sr or was it another announcer, I'm not sure nor do care hehhe,, truly enough, Joe Frazier won the fight.

Damn, my wife just sent me to an errand, jhope I can continue my recollection of the fight that made me a boxing fan.

at their peaks, tingin ko dapat si Frazier ang favorite over Tyson, only two guys to defeat Joe was Ali and Foreman both guys sa tingin ko at their peaks would have beaten Tyson ...

tingin ko malaki ng konti si joe ke Tyson plus more heart, he will bring Mike to deep waters at dun sa mid to late rounds sila magkakasubukan...

same time kahit I do favor fazier over Tyson I dont favor him that much at hind ito unsurmountable, Tyson can always turn the tables...

Wow...neat story Kad...i barely remember the fight itself, but clearly remember me and a couple buddies glued to the tv watching the fight. I'll have to watch it again after reading so much about it here lately.

Thanks for sharing your experience, i can kinda put myself in your shoes at the time you saw that. Great post.

prof, compared sa mga sumikat na heavyweights after him, si ali pa rin ba ang pinakamabilis ang kamay?
