The whole idea that an Oscar is some kind of qualitative reflection of a film's/actor's worth is nonsense. Behind the scenes the Oscars are a weird mix of politics, studio interference and incompetence. Publicly it's a fashion show with enough sycophantic glad-handing to rot your teeth.
