i'm curious to see if you can tap me out. even at that.... you should keep at the jiu-jitsu for another month (since your just getting back).. then ask him what he thinks about your progession and such. let him know that a belt does'nt mean **** around your waiste, but at the same time... its an accomplishment and lets you know where you rank against other jiu-jitsu artists.
and oh!!!! how the **** can you forget the last guy who got his blue?!?! joseph fool. he owns you. BOOM.
ruffneck119 02-26-2004, 06:07 PM Blue Belt huh? You should get it soon no problem BRO.
I am going to train at the Mike Ortiz BJJ school but only in No Gi can you get belts when you don't practice with a Gi?
Not that I care about belts.
wondermut 02-26-2004, 06:12 PM Usually you dont get belts in no-gi. I know eddie bravo gives t-shirts or sumthin like that.

i got my blue belt from fabiano and i've NEVER done Gi training under him. of course i dont wear an actual belt. however, i train Gi under John Ouano and John Ramirez and there I wear a belt, of course.
GhosT^x0 02-26-2004, 06:27 PM His name is Free Taylor. He was JJ Machado's first American black belt, and as well, he accomplished such a feat in a little over 8 years. He is an incredible practitioner.
Tanner Rhoden 02-26-2004, 06:44 PM Free got all his belts from Jean Jacques....JJ doesn't just hand belts out....he's very weird about it....hell, Eddie Bravo didn't get his black belt till AFTER he tapped out Royler in last years ADCC. I;'m sure Free is the same way cause that's how he was brought up in BJJ.....give it time, bro. You'll have that rank soon enough.
GhosT^x0 02-26-2004, 07:09 PM I believe Tanner more than I believe the rest of you.
Thanks BRO.
Purity 02-26-2004, 07:17 PM don't worry dave. i'm a slacker too so it's all good. so just remember that you're not the only one who neglects mma training like an incompetent ****wad
:)

Good ol Ton Loc, always bringin profound and astute points to the table.
We are committed to this brotherhood of slackage like nothing else. Ain't **** we can't slack too hard on.
realkaps 02-27-2004, 12:27 AM The blackness of my belt is blacker than the inside of a coffin on a moonless night......
VulgarTheClown 02-27-2004, 12:31 AM I would never give a belt to a student that was like "Hey you see me!!!! look at my progress!!!" you get your belt when the teacher gives it. no questions asked.
and you left me off the list.
I own you BOOM!
realkaps 02-27-2004, 12:33 AM Anyone here over a blue belt, besides Carlao?
Aaron Bizarre 02-27-2004, 08:42 AM blue belt is the biggest division in the world and some schools do it differant. I got my Blue Belt after training a year and half but then again my Judo background helped in that. I have heard of schools that give them in like 6 monthes.
handjobs4dollars 02-27-2004, 10:54 AM I know I could hang with all of the blue belts here, even tapped them all out.
GeNeRaL 02-27-2004, 11:11 AM My friend Josh and another friend Matt started at Royce Gracies school in West Hartford CT about 8 months ago and just got their blue belts from Rolker at a seminar last weekend.
The Blue belt that helps teach andrew calindrelli (his brother) at Renzo's school in CT is a blue belt and has several years of jiu jitsu training.
Tanner Rhoden 02-27-2004, 11:12 AM Royce and his affiliates are known for handing out belts to early. Renzo is a lot better at holding off on belts until people are ready to recieve them.

if you're refering to what i said... you took it wrong. never should you boast about the progess you see in yourself..... however asking what they think about you and the progessions you've made if they think you've made any is good IMO. i'd rather always know what my instructor thinks about me, otherwise i won't know what i am doing wrong. improvement does'nt just happen. you learn from mistakes.
handjobs4dollars 02-27-2004, 12:12 PM I will own you all. You can't touch me. Small man jiu-jitsu.
DOGGx0 02-27-2004, 12:19 PM wtf? you're way to big to be refering to you and anything with the word "small" in it.
handjobs4dollars 02-27-2004, 12:23 PM Small man jiu-jitsu

Like, if I got all drunk one night and I decided to mouth off and go challenging Canadians, to avenge the deaths of my other Canadian friends at your hands (in this case, Creed), would you accept?
VulgarTheClown 02-27-2004, 02:22 PM beware the stinkface and the smother

I have some striking skills but I would say grappling is what I know best.
GhosT^x0 02-27-2004, 05:36 PM It's killer that you'd fight me. I'm not sayin I want to, or that I was issuing a challenge, but I kinda wanted to gauge your warrior spirit based on your answer.
The force is strong in this one. But I'd be doing my best to strike all over you.
handjobs4dollars 02-27-2004, 06:20 PM I'd fight anyone theirs no need for anybody to wonder who I would fight.
