Many Mexican fighters tend to have very short amateur careers. Usually going Pro almost immidiately.

I also heard one of the Mexican boxers was robbed when he fought a figther from greece but i can not testify to the validity of this since i didnt see. My friends father saw it and he said he was robbed. (Big boxing fan)

Like ultimate already said

Most Mexican fighters turn pro when there about 15-16 years old. They dont believe in bringing up a fighter like they do in the states.

they throw you to the wolves down there and thats how they weed out the weak.

He was Abner Mares, I think. Mares also won the U17 world championships and the bantamweight gold medal at the Central American games 2002 beating Juan Manuel López <---- this according to wikipedia.

Cuba got 8 medals, none of them were gold. Half of them were silver.

Russia got 3 medals, 2 of them were gold and the third was bronze.

Put it this way Kazakhstan did better than USA.

French frogs did better than USA, i saw some french fighters getting robbed and gettin some silver and bronze medals. They're pretty good technically but contrary to mexican and puerto ricans, they can't go further than being good amateurs. Even at pro, they fight for points like Amateurs, Willy Blain who was an 8 time national champs in AM got beat up by Lamont Peterson and only has 1 win by KO in more than 20 fights.
The only reason french don't dominate in Europe as pros is because the amateur culture is too big and their country is all about soccer and rugby.
