View Full Version : [LMAO!] Is Prodigy hip hop's punching bag?

Seriously Jay destroyed him, Nas destroyed him, Pac ****ted on him (very foul but he did), Saigon sucker punched him, 50 dissed him then signed him, Game at one point dissed him, um and now Joey ****s on him too.

I mean damn. Nobody respects this guy. Joey said the production carried him. I never been too big on Prodigy. His earlier days he was good. But then his flow became drunk and Havoc started to spit better than him.

jay-z never destroyed him...lets not disgrace legends like ice cube, common, and canibus that really knew how to make a diss song instead of outswagging their opponents and bragging about their riches.

Drop a gem on em >> Hit em up (pac lost)

Nas destroyed him? when?

Games never made a song where he hasnt dropped a name.

Saigons a false prophet...no one cares about him.

P is a legend...cant nobody take away what he was.

"When I was pushin weight, back in eighty-eight
you was a ballerina I got your pictures I seen ya
Then you dropped "Shook Ones," switch your demeanor
Well - we don't believe you, you need more people"

Nah Jay got at him.

yeah that sounded good, and jay is my favorite rapper of all time.

-but hes talking about his money...which shouldn't be used against somebody.
-p wasn't really a ballerina, it was a kid picture
-jay switched his demeanor as a rapper, mobb deep was hard from the start.
-plus jay probably has money stack bigger than himself.

Me and you already went over how anything goes in rap. If it sounds good it sounds good. People loved those lines in Takeover back in the day. I'm not tyring to diss Prodigy I'm just sayin a lot of people have got at him pretty good. And no disrespect but he's not a 5 of all time in my opinion.

I agree musically its a great song from a classic album. but fact wise, its alot of slick talk by Jay. Which is what disses are I guess. It depends how you look at it.

I said as far as rap groups, Mobb Deep is top 5

Oh I thought you meant on a solo tip. I thought it was dope personally. The only line I thought was a stretch was to say Nas only had one good album. Other than that Takeover was nice.

very good posts by the truth...alotta respect for that. I love the takeover as a song. I think its very funny, jay-z was great on it. But in terms of how good of it diss it was..i wouldnt say it was a very good one. Great song, average diss.

Those pictures of Prodigy are hilarious, but who doesnt have embarrassing pics? Lets not act like....yea yall know the deal.

Hit em up is criminally overrated. Its just a bunch of **** you's, i ****ed your wife, and you have sickle cell. Pac was an ******* for that but he didnt deserve to die though...I dont think he was serious with what he said, he was all about the money.

Theres more of a science behind drop a gem...

HNIC was also arguably a classic...

Mobb deep is one of the best duo's ever. Its a shame how quickly the mainstream fans turned on them just because they got outswagged. And I dont want it to sound like im dissing jay-z, i got nothing but respect for hova the legend but I dont think diss songs is one of his stronger skills. Its not like Nas can make a real good commercial song, Pac wasnt the best lyricist...you can find something wrong with any rapper.

Joey got at him good, i cant front on that. But at the same time, Its not unheard of to say that mobb deep has 3 consecutive classics. Alotta rap fans speak highly of the infamous, hell on earth, and murda muzik. Maybe the beats helped prodigy, but i cant really **** with buddens songs that dont have good beats. His diss was still good, funny, and entertaining though.

"If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)"
"Street Dreams"
"Nas Is Like"
"Hate Me Now"
"Nastradamus"
"You Owe Me"
"Oochie Wally"
"Got Ur Self A..."
"Made You Look"
"I Can"
"Can't Forget about You"
"Hero"

I gotta disagree. Most of those tracks are really good singles.

Now I will admit that the last couple of albums his singles haven't taken off. But they still did pretty good. But from It Was Written to God's Son his single game was nice and the radio bumped him. Now again his last few haven't popped off but I think that's due to Nas not promoting as much as you see other new artists do.

I guess i worded that wrong...i should have said a good hit song. It seemed like Hate me now got alot more radio play then any other nas song.

And im not even trying to criticize Nas, hes a great rapper...I strongly believe hes top 3 all time but he hasnt had that much mainstream appeal the past 4 or 5 years and compared to jay-z, he has no mainstream appeal.

Jay-z can still drop those hits...

show me what you got
Kingdom come
Roc Boyz

It will be interesting to see how the mainstream responds to Jay-z with BP3, I hope to see him get alotta radio play seeing as how hes a legend in the game and hes reppin NY. He might be one of the few New Yorkers that can still get his sh!t on the radio...even 50 is having a tough time with that.

Listen b, doggie, dunny dun, cuz, etc. it's all love man. I've seen you **** on Game (an artist which I am a fan of) but I still respect your opinion. It's no diss to one of your favorite rappers. As long as you enjoy who you like that's all that matters. P has classic verses and has been apart of great music. I personally felt Amerikaz Nightmare was underrated but I was just making an observation. And added a little spice to the thread with some pics and what not. But it's all good.
