Looks like playoffs for The Hitman barring a miracle comeback by Rae.

Looks like Trees and I might both get in with Trojans dropping from 5th to 7th or 8th.
lets do it Hitman...come on...lets make the playoffs then go and play each other for the championship...that would b sweet..lol..i need Rae tho to gain a few more categories..lol..so i can get back to 5th...lol

lol.....yeah man I'm having a pathetic week, not even putting up a fight and ****ed up and didn't even notice Harden was pitching today so he's got 9ks and a QS and possibly a win just sitting on the bench for me.....Just one of those weeks and it came at the worst possible time. Good job bro and good luck in the playoffs.....:439:

i will jump for joy...i have worked hard on this team all year...def feel i deserve a playoff spot.....

Congrats broski it looks like you're in!!! You did a great job w/ your team. Good shit my dude.

How brutal, 14-K crushes Trojans playoff dreams with a 10-5 victory. Both Trojans and Saad put up awful final weeks....

Looks like IncuFan vs. Hitman and KB vs. Sonny in the first round of the playoffs! Should be good.

Oh btw gringo & 14-K are #1 and #2 in the regular season....AGAIN!!! Third year in a row methinks.

Saad I hate you for outwaivering me for Gavin Floyd. Brett Myers is back though. Hopefully he will pick up some slack.

Awful is not the word for it. Complete and utter meltdown is more fitting.

And sorry bro, at the time I was hoping to still make the playoffs.....I'd drop him but.....that wouldn't be fair now would it.

Had a good season ending victory over Gringo and my team seems to be playing well down the stretch. My matchup with Hitman is gonna be tough, I think we've both beat each other by 9-6 scores this year, so Im expecting another close one. My pitching im hoping will hold up, my offense has been good all year, but my pitching is my achilles heel.

Good job treez, your team came through with a big win when you needed it. Your team could be peaking at exactly the right time.

Should be a good battle this week.

You get 2 starts from Lincecum and Wainright. I get 2 starts from Verlander and Halladay and very possibly a start from Jake Peavy as well on Saturday or Sunday.

I of course expect to be seeing that 50K in my Inbox on Monday morning.

haha. it's still very early...hitman and K both have good shots at winning. sonny and i just have a destiny to battle it out for supremacy in boxingscene fantasy sports. we're like the lakers and spurs, the yanks and sawx, the red wings and penguins, the patriots and steelers.

Well if you are rooting for 14-k then I am rooting for badblood. I still can't believe I lost on a tie-breaker, but with Santana and Qualls going down and with Michael Young having been out of commission for several weeks now I'm lucky I got that far.

Fuentes really shit the bed tonight for you Gringo, saves are the one of the categories up for grabs. It was funny, he should had a called 3rd stike to close the game and the ump blew the call giving the batter ball 4 and walking in the tying run. Next guy gets a hit, game over.

Ever since the Mets started sucking my closer situation has gone downhill. I have 4 closers right now...2 are great on shitty teams (K-Rod, Bell), 1 is garbage (Madson), 1 is like Todd Jones (Fuentes).

Maddening. You got some homers today. This is still statistically close, but my pitching matchups are nice for the rest of the week.

Just send those sweet points on over my way. Don't worry, I won't spend them all in one place. Might as well double the amount because I don't think you even notched a point against me this week. Maybe 1 or 2...but it was a savage rape party no matter how you slice it.

I commend you for making it as far as you did, but you had to have your dreams shattered like so many had before you. This was standard...this is what I do. I get their hopes up and then serve them up a hot steaming bowl of cincinatti chili.

3 fantasy baseball finals in 4 years, 2 championships that will become 3 once I destroy 14-K. WWWHHHOOOOODDDEEEEEYYYYYYYYY???

It was a good year fellas. No, a great year.

We saw the closest regular season race ever, pitting 4 teams against each other with only 2 spots to claim. We saw some good playoff match ups with a (admittedly) anti-climatic final game. There is something to be said about consistency and respect to Sonny and 14-K for being mainstays in the playoffs year in and year out.

14-K took down the title this year. This wasn't surprising, I thought he'd win the regular season and I knew he'd be a force in the playoffs. Even though he isn't a boxingscene member (well, actually he technically is, he just never posts), he is always going to play in a league that I commish. The guy just knows fantasy sports. He is my arch rival (Sonny is the only other one) and consistently takes down titles in other leagues. Greinke in the 13th, Sandoval in the 16th, Cruz in the 11th, Pena in the 12th, Votto in the 10th, two starting closers after round 16....that's why he wins. Quality managing all year, superior late round drafting, excellent waiver moves, on down the line. 14-K, the CHAMPION of the 4th annual BoxingScene Fantasy Baseball league. :fing02:

There is also something to be said about first impressions. IncuFan and Hitman came into this league as rookies. They probably hadn't played in this exact format before, they hadn't been through the grind of the boxingscene fantasy baseball league and they had no boxingscene fantasy sports track record. Both guys kicked ass this year, flat out. Big respect to both managers.

I predicted that Inc would have a rough year, but he made moves and assembled a squad that was a force to be reckoned with. There was a time where his squad looked like a favorite. Inc's team finished with the best cumulative offense numbers on the year and he acquired sleeper pitchers like Romero, Kershaw, Johnson and Cain. That's impressive...shouldn't have expected anything less from a god Michigan fan. Inc, you will certainly be invited back next year.

Hitman had the first overall pick in the draft and he assembled a squadron that reflected that good draft position. Explosive offense and studly pitching paced his team all year. Although we went back and forth about The BonBon, which you were correct about, I can't deny that you had a great strategy for your team. Great infield, great starting pitching, great team. The 3rd place finish isn't surprising. Great work. You also have a guaranteed spot in the league next year if you want it.

To sum up, I want to say thanks to everyone else who showed up for the draft, stayed on top of their team all year, made moves to try to improve their team and actually took some time to post in this thread. You guys make fantasy sports fun. This would be very lame if we all just drafted and had a league plagued by inactivity and silence. Instead everyone was very into it the whole year and we had a fun, competitive league as a result. So thanks to:

Treez (grats on making the playoffs!)

Saad (your title is coming, you'll get there sooner or later)

Ficks (your run of bad luck won't last long)

FairPole (off year, you'll be back)

Lefty (keep makin moves)

Trojans (improving year to year)

Jefe (more activity = better results)

Thanks for playing everybody, hopefully everyone stays alive and doesn't get teh aids so we can get this league going again next year. PEACE!:luvbed:

Thanks for the positive review on my managerial skills. It looks like I have a damn good Fantasy Football team lined up and I have a feeling we may be duking it out for a title a couple months from now.

I have to say that it's a miracle my fantasy team finished in 3rd place. I had so many injuries this year it was a chore just to keep my team competitive for weeks at a time.

I lost Weeks for the season, Peavy essentially for the season. Milledge got shit on by a terrible franchise then came back and showed why he belonged in the big leagues all along.

ASide from those guys I lost A-Rod, Halladay, Wakefield, Hunter, Ludwick for extended DL stints and even had a 3-4 week period in which I had 4 DL players rostered at the same time.

After those guys I had Brandon Inge who stuggled badly through the 2nd half because of knee injuries that he insisted on playing through, I lost Hanley for several 3-4 game stretches with minor injuries.

The thing I am happiest about though is that I think I did the best job out of all managers when it came to trades.

I turned down a couple offers that were tempting that would have hurt my team and the only two trades I made, both of which I offered, Huff for Ludwick and Jenks for Werth made my team much much better and did nothing for the other team.

I also made two of the best waiver wire acquisitions of the year with Franklin and Cuddyer.

It was a lot of fun, I enjoyed the shit talking as I needed something to break up the monotony. Looking forward to next year and a spot in the finals.
