sorry to those of you on my list if you clicked that link that was sent from my Screen Name. New virus out, no fix yet, brand new, and smart as hell. It sends itself from your AIM account to many people on your buddy list, via a link for an osama game or perhaps other stuff. once you click you have to "trust" some software to run the game (which is actually boring anyhow), and that seems to be how its installed and spread. So once again, my apologies to those who got the link from me.

I don't accept your apologies. However a check for $50 will be greatly appreciated.

Gracias.

it's in the mail, and it's made of rubber.

ok i've done some looking into this and have the following conclusion to offer. It's not a virus, but merely AOL IM Spam software.

This is how i removed it myself...
Uninstalled it (buddylinks) from the programs list.
Ctrl+Alt+Delete; end blengine.exe and channelup.exe
regedit; search (edit->find) 'buddylinks', 'channelup', and 'blengine' - I deleted any files contaning this.
Deleted the shellinstaller.ocx out of Common Files folder, base code mentions buddylinks that is the right one.
Searched my computer for 'buddylinks', 'channelup', and 'blengine' - Deleted any files/folders that came up.

This seemed to have fixed it.

This is why I don't use AIM or AOL at all. AOL = the ghey.
